Snowhere fast
Recently I've read quite a lot of Arthurian literature and would just like to create a topic about who your favourite character is? Personally, mine is Sir Tristram. I feel his story, especially within Le Morte D'Arthur, is the most tragic and the one which I felt was most gripping. Also the guy was arguably the best fighter of the round table (matched Lancelot's skill easily). So, who's yours?

frodostark
Gareth seconded for sure...love that story! Also, a huge fan of Prince Valiant, the main character of the best comic strip of all time: http://www.sfweekly.com/exhibitionist/2011/10/12/10-reasons-prince-valiant-bests-all-2011s-adventure-heroes. Somehow he never made it into Malory. :P
Calibandar
I'll say Merlin, followed by Arthur and then Galahad/Gawain..

Lies And Perfidy
Gawain. The most believably flawed, human, basically decent character. Way more interesting than any of the Perfect Knights.
Richard Writhen
I'll go with Roland too, great answer, followed by Merlyn...

Ever seen The Toast's breakdown of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight? It is wonderful. LADY BERTILAK: let’s have sex GAWAIN: Okay, no for two reasons one is that you are my host’s wife and also it goes against every vow of knighthood ever and the second half of the second reason is that then I would have to also have sex with your husband according to your weird castle sex game LADY BERTILAK: mm that sounds like a Gawain problem not a Lady Bertilak problem http://the-toast.net/2015/06/03/sir-gawain-and-the-green-knight/
