If Dany sits the throne: Dothraki, Ghiscari, others

Will she incorporate her hordes into society?

What's the plan beyond fire and blood!

Blood and fire, of course!

Seriously, though, most of them aren't a problem. The Unsullied shouldn't be all that hard to incorporate into society, and they're only a problem for one generation. And I don't see her bringing all the former bed slaves and loom slaves and other non-fighters with her. (Besides the fact that they're only a drag on her invasion, someone has to stay behind to rule Slaver's Bay. And that last part probably means many of the pit fighters and other Selmy trainees will stay behind to defend Slaver's Bay, too.) And the sellswords are sellswords; they'll be looking to skip continent as soon as there's a paying battle in Essos, which should be immediately. (Even if Dany completely ignores the Free Cities, ignoring their slavery and the promise made in her name about Pentos and so on, just defeating the entire army and navy of Volantis and their allies shakes up the balance of power enough that someone's going to declare war on someone.)

So it's mainly just the Dothraki who are the problem. But of course they are the biggest problem of them all. A horde whose entire culture is "civilization bad, set it on fire" is pretty hard to integrate into any culture. Of course they'd be useful in the battle against the Others, but where could you settle them afterward? Even the wildlings wouldn't get along with them. (And you probably can't raise horses too well in the Gift during winter anyway, much less farther north.) Maybe strand them on the Iron Islands, where they can't trouble anyone?

Fortunately, she's also bringing greyscale and the Pale Mare with her, and bringing further chaos to a country that still needs to fight the Others and then survive a winter that almost nobody has been able to prepare for because they've been fighting war after war after war for the past 2-3 years, so maybe all of her problems will solve themselves.

I don't think any readers are expecting an easy transition. Even the Dornish are still distrusted in KL. But you have to hand it to Daenerys for being one of the few characters who has shown an ability and willingness to adapt to other cultures and learn their customs. Most other characters are stuck on some kind of cultural divide (north! no, south! Ironborn! Wildling!), but Dany recognizes the need to reach across those lines.

The small band of Dothraki that followed Dany out of the Red Waste have already shown an ability to integrate into a way of life not dependent on nomadism and war.  The question remains if larger groups could be convinced to domesticate.

I would say so, not in the timeframe of the books. The ancient First Men don't seem to be much different than the present day Dothraki, at least in scale of brutality. They managed to have a peace with the CotF somehow. Then again, it took thousands of years and a Queen on dragonback to stop the first night tradition on a wide scale. Progress is slow.

I generally agree that progress is slow.  But as you mentioned, Dragons seem to have a way of speeding up the process.  If 50 riders can be convinced to stop taking slaves, raping, and raiding, because they believe the girl with the dragons is magic or whatever, I don't see why 10,000 riders can't be convinced.  Perhaps it's unrealistic, but magical beasts of mass destruction are as well.

We know from the original outline Daenerys is going to "subjugate" the Dothraki. I don't expect her to turn them into a bunch of sweethearts, but once they're underneath her rule I'd imagine rape and slavery will be forbidden.

Its almost as though she's the only one in the series who looks to be bring hordes of pillagers and rapists who glorify stealing women and suchlike into the Realm. Oh wait, that already happened in the North didn't it. My mistake.

ETa: Also, I can't imagine she would bring the Ghiscari with her. The Ghiscari hate her, and are currently besieging Meereen. Dothraki? Maybe, if she can get them onto ships and across to Westeros. Or she may use them to fight her battles in Essos instead, and take only her Unsullied and Sellsword companies to Westeros.
As for settling them, I doubt the Dothraki would even want to remain in the Seven Kingdoms if they were brought across. They would be more likely to do their part in the war effort and then return to Essos/The Dothraki Sea.

A few of those 50 were bloodriders, so there's a fairly unique relationship there, and the rest were the dregs of the dregs, basically doomed to die were it not for Dany taking them as her own mini-khalasar. Even if they didn't give a shit about Dany they couldn't really do much.

I think to convince more than that number (especially if we're dealing with tens of thousands) will require her to actively reform them, which I'm not sure how someone would do (if she even intends to permanently settle them in westeros).

Maybe if there was a Dothraki character that constantly talked about his member they would be more endearing?

It is kind of annoying that the Dothraki are constantly called "savages" and are talked about like they are so much worse than the Wildlings. One reason they get more shit (comparatively speaking)
is because they're associated with Daenerys.

Agree, why would the Ghiscari ever join Dany? Makes no sense. As you say they are her enemies, the Dothraki are a different story.

I also think it's partly Martin's fault. While he gave the Wildings character we have very few Dothraki character's Dany interacts with in the same way Jon interacts with the Wildings. It's kind of weird actually.

I expect that will change somewhat in WoW. IIRC GRRM said the Dothraki will have a large role.

It's not that they're with dany it's that they wipe civilisations out and kill each other over who gets to rape the slave first.
