A Possible Direction For Dany's Story in Season 6 (All Spoilers)

I was just rereading the first book and marvelling at how well these books are foreshadowed and told. I'm at the chapter (sorry, someone else will have to do the Roman numeral) where Dany eats the horse heart.

After she does and names her firstborn Rhaego, Drogo leads her in a procession from the pit. The first group to follow them is the dosh khaleen, the group of wise women who are the ultimate authority over the Dothraki. Each old woman was a former khaleesi, sent to the group when their khal died.

"Even the mightiest of khals bowed to the wisdom and authority of the dosh khaleen. Still, it gave Dany the shivers to think that one day she might be sent to join them, whether she willed or no."

I'd have to go rewatch season 1 to see if the dosh khaleen were introduced. But isn't this the natural place for Dany to wind up? She may have to press her claim. It would be easier, as in the books, if one of Drogi's khalasar still lived. If she can make the case to her captors, they would be bound to take her to the dosh khaleen, even if only to be judged whether to admit her. She did, after all, allow Drogo to be raised with blood magic. But these women will be the ones to decide whether the Dothraki would join Dany's invasion of Westeros. They alone could call all the Dothraki together and charge them to follow the Mother of Dragons, even onto ships.

What do you think?

All spoilers lawl...

I know, I didn't know what to say! I should have put book spoilers, but as long as I've been here, I've never caught the right distinction or read the rules (everybody, read the rules - don't be me). But yes, having effectively caught up with the books, the TV spoilers and books spoilers are close to a circular Venn diagram...

But I didn't recall if they had set this up in the TV series or not. If they had, it's just a TV spoiler, but if not, it's a book spoiler and/or might not even be relevant.

I think it's certainly possible for her to be taken to the dosh khaleen. The only problem I could forsee is that with Drogon, she could fight back against the Dothraki trying to take her there.

But she might want to go! What better place for her to make her play for the Dothraki? Indeed, she might claim it to protect herself from her captors. Drogon would put up a fight, but the Dothraki are are archers coming and going on horses. A single dragon might not be able to fend them all off.

In books, Dany might fear Jhaqo trying to take her to the Dosh Khaleen, but I doubt he is fool enough to try after seeing her with a Dragon. Also, he has probably heard the stories about her not only birthing two more but conquering three cities. He knows she's not some helpless maiden.

I think most people is expecting Dany to be taken there in a violent way. It can happen if Drogo then flies away and Jhaqo decides to be an idiot and kidnap her or "put her in her place". But I doubt her meeting with the old women will have a bad result. Whether the prophecies are true or not, they are true if people want them to be true: they will believe Dany was the Stallion and not her child. They will decide what direction the Dothrakis will have, whether Jhaqo approves it or not.

OTOH, my crackpot is that they have Rhaego and Jhaqo will take her to her baby in exchange for her leaving or who knows.

Jhaqo is honor-bound to take Dany to Vaes Dothrak and make her join the Dosh Khaleen. He might have trouble doing that if Dany objects. At the end of ADwD, however, Dany is in full "in order to go forward I must go back" mode. She will go to Vaes Dothrak gladly, but once she gets there all seven hells will break loose. There is that vision from the HotU of the crones bowing down to her that is yet to be fulfilled .

Something important might happen on the Mother of Mountains as well. Women are forbidden to set foot on the MoM. How much you wanna bet Dany breaks that taboo? Perhaps something "enlightening" will happen on the mountain.

No females on the Mother of Mountains? It's been a long time since I read Clash. Interesting...

It's in AGoT, in the chapter when they first arrive at Vaes Dothrak.

(AGoT, Daenerys IV)

'Khaleesi," Cohollo said to her, in Dothraki. "Drogo, who is blood of my blood, must ascend the Mother of Mountains this night, to sacrifice to the gods for his safe return."

Only men were allowed to set foot on the Mother, Dany knew.

I do not think there is any way that Dany does not come out of this current predicament without holding all the cards and gaining yet ANOTHER  ARMY to do her will. When she returns to Mereen, any Harpy resistance will be crushed and raped into submission. Seriously, The Dothraki Khalisar is like a huge army of mounted, shirtless Ramsay Boltons, killing and raping and celebrating. With them doing Dany's will, there is nothing stopping her except a lack of ships and maybe the White Walkers and the walking dead.

  • 2 weeks later...
This season Dany's story will focus on the Dothraki and conclude with the battle of Meereen.

Meanwhile Daario and Jorah will encounter their own problems before eventually catching up with her. Well, one of them will, probably Jorah.

Dany needs to spend time away from Meereen. Even if it's just to give Tyrion and Varys some time to rule - whatever that involves.

Dany will be taken by force first, but soon she will realize the said prophecy about, "The stallion who mounts the world".  That stallion is Drogon!!

She will let herself be taken to Vaes Dothrak with the goal of convincing the Dosh Khaleen to unite the Dothraki into a single Khalasar...

Once they see drogon and her commanding and riding him..  They will all unite under her command and ride to the ends of the world as prophesized.

But first stop Mereen.

Do not know how Jorah and Daario fits into this...
