New POVs

Of all the characters in the series so far who would you like to see a new POV from?

I'd love to get a POV from Wyman Manderly or his son.

And obviously it would be awesome to read one from Varys or Littlefingers but I doubt it.
Others include, Marwyn, Rickon or Osha, Ramsey and lady stoneheart

Rickon,Stanny,Stoneheart,Roose,Littlefinger,Wyman,Ser Garlan Tyrell,Robb stark ( well he is dead sadly but if he had pov chapters in AGOT or ACOK or ASOS it would have been awsome.) and finally Edmure Tully and the Blackfish.

I think a Mance Rayder POV, or even him as the prologue character, would be absolutely amazing. He could make the lives of everyone in Winterfell complete hell, while laughing at them as they complain about how cold it is at Winterfell. Would be a nice way to see if The Bastard Letter told the truth in any way. Just being in this man's head for a bit would be one of the greatest things GRRM could give us.

George confirmed that Jeyne Westerling would be in the prologue. What that entails, I have no idea. While he said there wouldn't be anymore new POVs, that doesn't mean he won't go back on that. We'll likely get some POVs in Dorne, and whether that means he sticks with Areo or looks for somebody else (Doran maybe?) remains to be seen. But I don't really see the need for any more POVs. I actually think we could do with less than what we've already got.

bloodraven, yes i need to know everything he knows everything from before he joined nights watch, from time he was nothing but a bastard, even before his childhood and everything.... that man is kind of like a hard drive of westeros..... offcoruse bran will get all of that information stored in his mind aswell but still i dont think we will be able to see much through bran because he will stick to things related to starks only or close to starks or maybe things that effect starks in anyway but through blood raven we will be able to see almost whole westeros and its secrets....

I add Daven Lannister to my prior suggestion of Garlan Tyrell.

It'd be interesting to get a glimpse inside the mind of a normal Lannister. Maybe the Red Wedding II will have more impact if we can sypathyze with the victim. Show that Lady Stoneheart and the BWB, while carrying out the revenge everyone wants, are no better than Roose Bolton and Walder Frey.

I'm not sure where exactly I read, but I guess GRRM has said that there won't be any new POVs.

This is the source, however the bit about there not being any new POV's has been widely misquoted.  GRRM has started that he does not intent for there to be any new POV chapters.  But that's far cry from being an absolute no, and considering that video is three years old the "no new POV characters" argument is pretty moot.

That said, there are a few perspectives I'd love to read, but not sure if they would add to the story in a way an established POV character would be.  Anything I'm coming up with could be counteracted easily with viewpoints from another character.

Margaery ~ It would be nice to see a POV from her perspective, but not really sure that would achieve anything.  Readers sympathize with her because they've seen her downfall through Cersei.  If a POV chapter revealed her in an unsavory way, readers would immediately lose that sympathy.  An Ollena POV chapter after Margaery's inevitable death might be interesting though.

Osha ~ Would love to see her experiences with Rickon, but since Davos is out to find them, her story would coincide with an already established POV character if found.

The Hound ~ This is assuming of course that he is alive and indeed the Gravedigger that Brienne encounters.  The main problem is that his actions are better perceived from an external viewpoint in contrast by what he says.  Actions very much speak louder than words from this one.

Wishful Thinking:

Ramsay ~ Just because he's completely nuts, he's such a sicko.

Sweetrobin ~ Likely more than meets the eye, but perhaps too similar to Bran as both are sickly and obsessed with flying.  Wouldn't be surprised at all if Robert Arryn has similar abilities as Bran.

Lady Stoneheart ~ Complete wishful thinking.

I expect him to clean house in Winds.

Mel, Barristan, Victarion, Aeron, Asha, I'd say they're all in danger.

But then Dream could still introduce new POV's I suppose.

Even if there was a definitive quote from George that confirmed 100% there wouldn't be a new POV character, I'd take that as confirmation that there is indeed a new one because I automatically assume the people creating my favorite things are lying to me.

If POV characters are cut, I don't necessarily think it means that they are in danger.

Barristan was needed as a POV is because unlike Westeros where there are many POV characters each feeding off of each other to give the reader information, Dany has been on her own in Essos and so has the reader.  With Barristan being by her side for a while, his perspective is needed for a better understanding.

Likewise is the case for the Greyjoys who are so far removed from most else in the story.  The same can be said for others too.  Some may cease being POV characters without actually ceasing.

There will be one or two new povs. They will both die since it is the prologue and the posible epilogue. The prologue will be someone with Jeyne Westerling. I have no idea who or where the epilogue will be.

Didn't he say recently that there will not be any new POVs?

Of course it is safe to assume that the prologue-POV (and a possible epilogue-POV) will be new POVs, because they are sure to die. It's rather obvious that GRRM didn't mean the prologue-POV with this statement.
