Gigei
Continuing the old thread about Fitz and the Fool by Robin Hobb. Just finished the second book and it's quite decent. Overall, a good read although the plot is moving very slowly. I was reluctant to read this because I know from reading Hobb's other books that her second book in a trilogy always ends in a terrible cliffhanger so I was thinking of just reading the last two books when the trilogy is finished. I just couldn't wait that long though. I had nothing to read this week so I took the plunge. Edit: oops, I forgot to put "part two" in the thread title. Nvm it seems there is already a thread. I searched "robin" and no new thread popped up so I thought there was none.

Crowjack
Not quite the right thread for this...but don't want to start a new one. I was laid up last week after surviving a pretty nasty traffic accident. While I waited to get an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, I whiled away my time reading the Farseer Trilogy. Hobb is VERY good at world building, plotting, characterization and all the things that make a good read. However, I was really depressed by the often bleak atmosphere. There were some of the age old tropes utilized, after all these books are what, 20 years old? But these are very compelling books, suspenseful books. but I'm not sure if I ENJOYED them. Probably shouldn't have tackled them while I was faced with my own mortality.
