purple-eyes
Barristan was captured, then he was spared by Robert. Then he started to serve him. What if he decided not to serve him? I do not think Robert will kill him, will he send barristan to wall to avoid he go to support targaryen? Or simply take him out of kingsguard like joff and let him to go home? Blackfish Tully
Barristan was captured, then he was spared by Robert. Then he started to serve him. What if he decided not to serve him? I do not think Robert will kill him, will he send barristan to wall to avoid he go to support targaryen? Or simply take him out of kingsguard like joff and let him to go home? Barristan was way to dangerous to just let go home . Jon Arryn would have recognized just like Tywin did that Barristan was a powerful symbol for the small folk and having him on the kingsguard was a very important for Robert to be legitimized as king . Barristan would have been strongly encouraged to join Robert's kingsguard, I'm sure that Roose Bolton was not the only one who wanted him dead, Barristan would have killed a lot of people on the Trident. . Robert was a great knight and had saved Barristan's life so it may not have taken too much to convince him to join Robert's kingsguard.
ShadowCat Rivers
The wall most likely would suffice without Ser Barristan losing his honour Yes, I agree, the Wall is the solution to save grace for both sides in such cases.
Dorian Martell
Barristan was captured, then he was spared by Robert. Then he started to serve him. What if he decided not to serve him? I do not think Robert will kill him, will he send barristan to wall to avoid he go to support targaryen? Or simply take him out of kingsguard like joff and let him to go home? He would have died. He was gravely injured and Bob sent his own Maester to tend to his wounds. No wall, no targ support, no anything. He owed his life to King Bob and he served the king accordingly, until Bob's heir dispatched him
TimJames
Barrestan will likley end up at The Wall, and might end up becoming Lord-Commander instead of Jon Snow.Meanwhile, without Barrestan to reveal it, Jorah's spying will never get discovered by Daenerys and she won't send him away. If he's willing to accept that she'll never see him in a romantic light, then he might make a half-competent adviser for her. He'd probably support Daario's plan of luring all the aristocrats out of their pyramids with a wedding and slaughtering them Frey-Style.

morgan1213
Ned tells us what would happen. Roose Bolton urged Robert to kill Barry. And bob said something like I will not kill a man for fighting well or pretty close to that. Poor Barry would be introduced to the Boltons.
