Stark cadetbranch on Skagos?

I was wondering if there could be a Stark cadetbranch on Skagos. Very little is known from Skagos, including the noble houses. I mean the only mentioned house from Skagos in the books is house Magnar.

I do think it's very plausible that after their lost rebellion one of the Starks (perhaps cousins or distant family) was to establish a house on Skagos, thus creating a cadetbranch. This to secure the peace and subjection of Skagos to Winterfell.

It could definitely be a reason to hide Rickon on Skagos.

What do you guys think and how do you think this will fit in the books?

I was thinking of a possible forgotten cadetbranch. Their rebellion was ages ago and during the time of Barthogan Stark, he himself even died during the rebellion. Isn't it custom to atleast take a Skagosi highborn as ward or marry a second or third son off to a Skagosi just to ensure their fealty ?

It's only a partial family tree - there are plenty of branches that don't show any children - like Jocelyn Stark and Benedict Royce.  Their children are the "Vale cousins" Catelyn mentions to Robb, but they aren't on the Stark family tree - just the marriage shows on the tree.  Which means it's likely that there are plenty of other Stark women (and some men) who were married off and had children that didn't appear on the family tree.

GRRM seemed to make sure there weren't any *close* living relatives of the Starks in the North, but there's bound to be plenty of (very) distant cousins (more distant that the Vale cousins, who aren't exactly *close* cousins themselves).  Highly likely they aren't "Stark's" by name, but with Stark blood.

So it's not impossible that a Stark woman was married off to a Skagosi Lord (or son) after their rebellion.

I'm gonna go with the consensus that it probably would of come up during tWo5K.

I like the idea that someone on Skagos has the bright idea of demanding a marriage pact with Rickon in return for handing him over and Davos getting caught in some gritty Westerossi politics.

Everything about Skagos looks very interesting to me. It's very close but also isolated. It's a large island too so they could have a substantial army to throw at someone. Plus it's rumored that they practice sacrifices to their weirwood with a lot more regularity so we could speculate that they have a greater understanding of the weirwoods than most other folk. I'm hoping they impose themselves on the story in winds.

Well, it would be quite something if Davos arrives on Skagos to find Rickon under the guard of some lost forgotten Stark cadet branch. Maybe one who left voluntary because he was a third son who had to marry the most ugliest girl in Westeros.

I can already see it happen

" Ser Davos was it right? Yes, Ser Davos.. I see you have come to take the boy. You must know that while every Northener forgot about us (Farstarks; just a name) we never forgot who we owe our allegiance to. We share the same blood, that of Bran the Builder. And for that, you will not take to boy with you. No, it will be his kin, and thus entire Skagos who will take the boy to where he belongs.. Winterfell!

And then there will be an epic battle!
