Can't guarantee it is still there, but I'll forward you the e-mail offer.
Also, a "reasonably" priced matching number set of Meisha Game/Clash and Sub Press Storm are up on eBay right now, for 3,400 or best offer. No feast means you probably can't get future rights unless you find the owner of the Feast with the matching numbers. Also comes with a Game First Edition in good condition.
Reasonable compared to the 10,000 somebody was asking for the lettered set. Still overpaying. Values are probably 1,000 for game and 600ish for Clash and Storm. Maybe 100 for Game first. There is some insane inflation going on right now, but that may or may not settle done (e.g. Storm First Editions going for 100 bucks when they went for 15-20 four months ago).
I noticed this. I agree that $3,400 is probably reasonable. If you figure numbered deluxe editions of AGoT, ACoK and ASoS generally average around $1,000 per book. Matching sets are becoming harder and harder to find. This would at least get someone three steps closer. Ironically, the mint condition hardback of AGoT with the Stephen Youll cover included in this lot is harder to find than the original AGoT first edition. That alone has collector's value and may even be worth a few hundred dollars.
I also agree that the complete set of lettered editions up on Ebay right now is much too high. But that is so rare. I spoke to a book collector that deals in rare Tolkien and other books of antiquities -- he also has a fascination with Martin. He believes this lettered set is overpriced; but he knows a few collectors who are watching that bid with interest. A complete matching lettered set with future rights is just a hard thing to come by. Though they may eventually be worth that, $5-6k seems more reasonable for now. Maybe that seller will come down.
