Houston, Texas here..actually Clear Lake but the post office deems it as Houston. I have a couple of good friends nearby who are big GRRM fans as well. Perhaps a get together is in order?
Just got back from Dallas, TX, was there visiting an artist who I had commisioned a painting back in february, but he didnt have it finished. They had an auction and I won an original painting. Later that day I was talkign to him about after he completes the first piece for me if he would be interested in working on another. We got to talking more and I brought up George R. R. Martin, and he had read A Song of Ice and Fire, so I suggested that my next commission would be a scene from the series, and he thought that would be amazing and real fun to work on. So here in the future I will have a one of a kind, water color piece from a scene from the novels heh heh. Below are some links to some pictures when I was in Dallas over the weekend.
Cave In, The original water color painting I won.
Rob Alexander showing off a playmat he had just finished working on, all he used was a sharpie!
Rob again, working on two playmats, that when combined create one scene.
A few of Rob's limited prints.
You can also visit Rob's site at www.robalexander.com , most of his work is 95% water color.

I'm in Austin :) We had a small Austin BWB meet a couple of years ago, but I don't know if those boarders are still here or not.
I met Lacy in LA, of course :) And I know LadyIsabel is up in the Dallas area. Ser Hot Pie is also in Austin :)

Seems like we do have quite a few people from Texas, nice.

I should think that a get together at the Texas Rennaisance Festival would be in order.
Well, opening weekend (Sat Oct 6 or Sun Oct 7) sounds like the best deal if we plan ahead. Only $11.00 per head online. 21 bucks at the gate.
I've only been to TRF once, many many years ago. Any TRF regulars here?

I've never been to a Ren Faire, but if that's near Columbus Day weekend I may be out of state :(
I attend the Ren Fair every year, http://www.texrenfest.com/, it begins October 6th and runs through November 25th. Nice recommendation GryymUmbra, even though I am only 20, no drinking for me until February, I would still love to hang out. I am not sure on the weekend yet either, not until I get my schedule for college etc.
