Not sure about that...but War Skrulls fought the X-Men briefly when they tried to take over the Shi'ar Empire...it was near the end of the Jim Lee run on X-Men and came right after X-Cutioner's Song (I think...this is from memory)...
Skrulls, like the Kree and Shi'ar, are the alien mainstays of the Marvel universe and have been about for so very long, that Marvel's pretty much added too much to their continuity to keep it all straight...

Loved those.
If you're good in french or german and like fantasy comics I can recomend the Black Moon Chonicles by Ledroit/Froideval. As far as I know they havent been translated into english ... but they might have appeared in Heavy Metal. Sadly, they're the obly ones who sem to care about (non porn) european comics. On the same note I would recomend Requiem, alse penciled by Froideval.

I just browsed that X-men at the comic book store - I didn't really read it as I"m not following Xmen any more, but it looks as though Emma forces Bobby to freeze someone and has his body turned to ice. I'm thinking maybe its Emma unlocking a mental block or something.
I just finished reading New Avengers and the identity of Ronin is revealed. SPOILERS!!!
Who the heck is Ecko? And what the heck is with drawing her like a man? Laaaaame... Hope they explain why she has to wear an obviously heavily padded suit that makes her look like a rather large man but every other female can run around in tights?

I guess the theory that Bendis just put a bunch of his favorite characters plus Wolvie together into a team is true. I'm surprised DD isn't in the Avengers.

But enough about her.
The issue was great. The were a bunch of great moments and lines. Karate Kid and Ultra Boy against thousands was a great scene, and Lightning Lad and Chameleon in the 5th dimension were fun.
Also Brainy brings a new (old) member of LoSH into action against Elyson.
I especially liked Brainy's use of Robin's slingshot.
Stuart Moore's back-up was a nice character piece.

You have to like the drawing style and the (mostly) lack of scenario and cheesy dialogue. I'd add that Requiem is both more original and features cool graphics (even if the artist's notion of composition is still to fit as much as he can in a box).
For a better experience, try Donjon, which is absolutely brilliant (a humorous/tragic/heroic fantasy series with excellent writing and naive graphics).

Also french I am really looking forward for the 3rd and final volume of Skydoll, been promised for ages supposedly finally coming out this month, I want it, I adored that series, it´s cute, it´s fun, it´s brilliant, it´s got a fabulous universe, the COLOR of it, it s pretty unlike anything else and very very charming.
American comics, been reading and loving a marvel series for teens called Runaways, lots of fun. Found out Sin City is just not my thing, but loved Fables.

Yep, love Old Lace, and you are right about that, all the characters got their personalities shining through somehow which of course makes it all a lot more interesting. And totally unrelated to quality, the price, it´s so nice, I tend to think of american comics as being expensive, but those small color TPBs collecting 6 issues for 8 dollars are pretty decent. paper quality is not brilliant, but still not a bad bargain! I can get french albuns, hardbound and lovely paper and printing for around 8 euros to 10 , but those tend to have just 50 pages or so, so in all Runaways is nicely priced.

It's just like the last arc that got resolved way too fast.
These days you can read Millar's UFF while in the toilet doing no. 1.
Which is sad, cause Millar's Superman Adventures were really packed, and those were one-issue stories, yet you got more out of them then these 3-parters put together.
Greg Land's art... well, I don't know. It all looks like he took pictures then messed with them in Photoshop. In a way it's too realistic. And stiff, like the characters are posing. Apsolutley no sense of movement whatsoever. And another problem is that he's characters don't look consistent. Momma Storm was different from panel to panel.
And I think she was putting a move on Reed. I guess she's turned on by superinteligence and expanding brains.

But Amazing Spider-man 526, I mean shit. I re-read the thing half hundred times and its still, bang. Especially when Morlun pulls out one of Spideys eyes and eats it. I can't wait for FNSM 3.
Ultimate Vision, the one in the back of U:FF, nice spin on Galactus.
