You two are insane and have zero taste in actual comedy.  30 Rock is by far the best it has ever been and with Parks and Rec off the sched currently the best comedy on tv.   The episode with Billy Baldwin playing Alec Baldwin's character in a fictional tv movie  was perhaps the best episode of the show, ever.

I don't watch 30 Rock while it's on.  It's one of those comedies that work best in 3-5 episode bursts, like a movie (especially since it often has 4-5 episode small story arcs).

Yes, that one was fantastic!

I tend to do this too. I find 30 Rock to be one of the most reliable comedies around - almost always good for some genuine laughs, occasionally capable of more. Need to catch up on it at some point, I've only watched the first 6 or so episodes of the latest season.

Now that was a good episode.  So many good flashbacks and guest stars (especially Don Glover as a young Tracy).  I loved the Nazi Dr. Spaceman spots.

I wish it was this funny every week...

That was probably my favorite thing in the past two seasons.  So, so well done.

Live Show 2 was hilarious. Nazi Doctor Spaceman, Fetal Chatteron Syndrome, Donald Glover as Young Tracy (He even took his shirt off), Jack in every single parody (Loved his small bit as Nixon!) and Liz as the first female reporter, Tracy "discovering" internet porn and Liz's reaction, Sir Paul McCartney as a guest star.

All brilliant and funny as hell.

Jon Hamm was hilarious in everything he did. Screw Mad Men, he needs his own sitcom.

I also have to thank my roommate for watching Mad Men. Because of that I almost died when Paul came down from the ceiling singing "Zou Bisou Bisou". Even when I watched it a second time, knowing that was coming, I couldn't contain myself.

And to think, I was dreading the episode because I hated the first live show. This one was one of the best shows of the series, period. Jon Hamm and Tracy in the parody of Amos and Andy alone was one of the best things they've ever done.

The live show was fucking hilarious. I may have to re-watch it which I very rarely do for sitcoms.

The live show was one of the funniest 30 minutes of television of all time. I was not expecting that at all. The other seasons live shows were never that great... The Nazi doctor routine had me in tears, the honeymooner's spoof was great, and Tracy Morgan was beyond funny....

I didn't know why everybody cheered when young Tracy Jordan came on screen. Apparently, he's Donald Glover and a big deal? I googled him, and I guess he's also Childish Gambino, who I've heard of only because there were posters all over campus because he was coming to do a concert? comedy show? something. Anyways.

I thought the live episode was fantastic. Anybody watch the west coast version? Apparently they had Kim Kardashian rather than Paul McCartney.

Donald Glover plays Troy on Community... It is an NBC sitcom that airs the same night as 30 Rock. It also happens to be the best sitcome on TV right now in my opinion. You should check it out one night if you like 30 rock.

Donald Glover was also a writer on 30 Rock. It's how he got his break in the bizz.

ETA: I must have seen the west coast feed because it had Kim Kardashian, and there were no Nazi Dr Spaceman jokes (though he did do two 'ads')

I've only heard great things about Community! It's on my to-watch list, right behind Farscape and Parks and Rec.

Those were the two main differences. The East Coast version had Sir Paul McCartney rather than Kim Kardashian, and the Dr Spaceman ads were one featuring his father promoting cigarettes to pregnant women, and then one with the Dr himself promoting a class action suit against the cigarette company involving all the children who are immensely deformed because of it. It was awesome.

What were his ads in the West Coast version?

You should definitely watch both of those two. They are fantastic shows, Farscape more so in my opinion. One of the best sci-fi series ever.

The only thing that spoiled the episode was Jimmy Fallon. He still can't keep a god damn straight face, and I hate him for it.

Yes, back in his SNL days he was one of the most punchable cast members ever. Him and Horatio Sanz would crack each other up when neither were doing anything remotely funny.

No, he can't, but that was still an awesome scene, if just because of Fred Armisen in the background.

Pretty good episode last night. Tracy's Mass Effect 3 sessions sound fun.

And an awesome Game of Thrones rep, Grizz's reaction to Ned Stark's death was priceless.

I'm sorry, but that episode was just awful.  To follow the live show with that is just a travesty.
