I'd say Alexander Skarsgard as Jaime Lannister. He's also been in the HBO series, Generation Kill and True Blood.

I also like the Joffrey suggestions of Max Pirkis if he hasn't aged too much (1st choice) or Tom Felton.
Beat me to it. Alexander Skarsgard would make an incredible Jaime Lannister. He is tall, athletic, an HBO regular, and can act.

Thirding this. He could pass as Tricia Helfer's twin too, and I'd love to see her as Cersei.

I like the idea of Portia de Rossi as Cersei.

She played quite the evil bitch as Nell Porter on Ally McBeal... might be too big of a star now since the whole Ellen/marriage thing though....
A popular choice for Jaime in many of the old casting threads was Josh Holloway, who plays Sawyer on Lost. He's an ex-model and one of People's 50 most beautiful people once, so that fits. He's a good actor and certainly has the physicality, though one would hope he can eliminate the southern accent. And of course, any Lost actor has the benefit of a pre-existing J.J. Abrams connection.

Speaking of the Lost connection, Evangeline Lilly wouldn't be half-bad as Cersei (remember, we don't have to cast blondes - tv/movie magic is a wonderful thing).
Second that. Josh Holloway as Jaime is a great choice...although he should really lose the accent for this role.

Not too sure about Evangeline Lily tho.

Fourthing (Is that even a word?) Alexander Skarsgård as Jaime. He can act, he's the right age and he's got the looks for the part :)

Emily Blunt for Cersei. She's a powerhouse actress who can not only act anything--but look like anyone. She played a great beeatch in The Devil Wears Prada, and a sympathetic doormat in The Jane Austen Bookclub.

Rosamund Pike might also be able to do a good Cersei. Beautiful, talented and sorely underused.

Toby Jones for Tyrion. Fantastic actor and, though not a dwarf, already played one in Ever After.

Simon Baker would be a fab Jaime--too bad he has that other hit show!

James Marsters would rule as Jaime. Look at him! I know he's coming up on 50 by now, but he looks waaaay younger and is one of the best actors on television, ever. He's got the emotional intelligence to get under Jaime's skin and can throw down a quip like no-one's business. Not everyone would recognize him as Spike from Buffy either. If he's available, I'd cast him.

Josh Holloway, for me is the perfect Jamie - confidence, swagger, oozing sarcasm and sexiness. But masterful enough that you can feel sympathetic for him even when he's being a punk.

Jesse Spencer I think would be a hair too old for Lancel, but I could see him there. Puffed up by pride but also vulnerable. And cute.

Adair Tishler would look good as Myrcella since I think Dakota is probably too expensive now.

Though she's not technically a Lannister, but Olivia Wilde could be Shae.

I support Josh Holloway for Jaime.

I've always thought that Kelly Carlson from Nip/Tuck would be great as Cersei (though Karl Urban is a better match for her twin brother than Holloway).

Alan Rickman is the perfect Tywin. Just think of his voice saying "wherever whores go".

Dinklage is Tyrion. This needs to happen.

Seconded.
Unfortunately the years have probably moved past him if the series aims to be more or less true to character ages, but I'll bring him up because George mentioned him a number of years ago as one of the actors that was sort of in his head when he started the series:

Kurtwood Smith as Tywin Lannister.
Also a good choice.

My suggestions:

Ed Harris or Patrick Stewart as Tywin Lannister. (Might be too big, though)
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000438/
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001772/
If they're too "big", how about Ciarán Hinds?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001354/

Polly Walker or Diane Kruger as Cersei Lannister.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0908116/
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1208167/

Josh Holloway as Jaime Lannister, if he can lose that damn Southern accent.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0391326/

Steven Waddington or Jeffrey Jones as Kevan Lannister.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000470/

Warwick Davis as Tyrion Lannister.

Bill Nighy As tywin lannister. He was one of the vampire lords in underworld. Was also casey jones in pirates of carribean. He has this very stone cold face about him, not a man youd want to mess with. With right makeup dyes etc I feel he could pull of twyin easily.

Looking on IMDB hes been in at least 3 different TV series and I cant recall him ever being a leading actor, so wouldnt think so. Just the look of his face specially in udnerworld photo feels very twywinish to me.
