The Dragon King
I've been watching "the Knick" lately and found a magnicifent candidate to play Rhaegar. http://www3.pictures...x-bU-jYY2sl.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot...20/flash1_l.jpg Give Eric Johnson the same hair/makeup they gave Lee Pace and Orlando Bloom and you have Rhaegar ready to go! And to play a young Robert we have Chris Sullivan, he pulls off an amazing Irish accent, he looks like he could be a young Mary Addy but he's physically imposing, stanfding 6'4. http://www.cultjer.c...40820010230.jpg http://cdn.screenran...1-episode-6.jpg http://cdn.hitfix.co...story_large.jpg

GeorgeIAF
I always imagined him as someone like Thranduil or Legolas looking type :) I think Elves are as close to Targaryens as it gets regarding body language.
BellaBee
I totally think, that we will never see Rhaegar, unless there is more flashbacks in the books to come, which make this necessary. Which is a shame! Rhaegar obviously knew more about the thread to come and how to face it. Still, if it does happen I vote for somebody like Alex Pettifer: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1641117/ Rhargar, in my mind, should be very young, but already a man, not a boy (Sorry Ben Barnes). Not too old. He should have a clear shaped face ("bony", with clear lines, no idea how to phrase this), or otherwise all this blond long hair would make him look like a girl. And more the intellectual musician, no Thor. Stunningly charming. I like the Elves-connection!
anto-ni
Hello, after reading most people's comments and mustering my own feeling of Rhaegar, I would like to recommend Christian Brylle - he is a Danish model and a photographer but one with a character. I found his mysteriousness and his Warden of the Notrh thing going on fantastichttp://scoopmodels.com/typo3temp/pics/7186ef93-2d1b-4c82-b5bb-88a3be1c7061_8753a0e3b1.jpg http://www.peoples.ru/art/fashion/mannequin/christian_brylle/brylle_2.pnghttp://image.thefashionisto.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/denim-supply1.jpg

idio
wtf man. everything is wrong about him. no way could this guy portray rhaegar, or any targaryen for that matter Surprised at your vehement reaction. Chilli
Meh, he woud've been a really good young griff... not really rhaegar material. too buff and haughty looking usually. I also think he could have been good for Young Griff. For me Rhaegar is a blond Orlando Bloom. He and Kit Harrington look very similar. I thought it was Kit on the poster of Kingdom of Heaven. anto-ni
wtf man. everything is wrong about him. no way could this guy portray rhaegar, or any targaryen for that matter Most of us, including yourself in the Bradley James/Young Griff comment, agree the actor to portray Rhaegar could not be buff. So when you say you do not find Christian Brylle suitable, could you tell more about your motivation? I still believe this guy can be a Rheagar or any Targaryen for that matter - he has the unusual face that screams Valyria/not your-everyday-Westerosi and could look both cold and kind to convey the conflicted nature of Rhaegar and other Targ nobles. https://36.media.tumblr.com/e3be60476636a51700f15a024cd9942b/tumblr_mx3ups0nsU1s3ve68o1_500.jpg Cheers. The Dragon King
Surprised at your vehement reaction. I thought he was a pretty decent thought. I don't like the choice, he's not manly or handsome IMO...but I'm also not going to curse your entire family for the choice ;)

Tinker Tanner
For me the perfect Rhaegar would be Bennadict Cumberbatch :) I don't know how to put up pics, but he did do a film recently in which he had long silvery white hair and ever since he's the Rhaegar I picture in my head while reading asoiaf. Obviously this would only work if they make a prequel movie after the series is done because he's too much of a big name now.

The Wolfswood
Rhaegar was well under 30 when he died so they need someone young. Most of the people mentioned here would be the right age if Rhaegar had not died and was still living now. Benedict Cumberbatch is way too old and not pretty enough. The Wolfswood
I would love love love him to be played by Kit Harington in Daenerys 'bed hair' wig. Not going to happen though. :crying:
