Again, everyone has their reasons. I hear there are even some dumbass schmucks who read Crossroads of Twilight. Some people persist in behaviors that approach outright masochism. Who knows why anyone does it. But they do. I often do. And our reasons for watching or reading probably aren't any better or worse than yours.

And a good day to you, sir.

And at some point it crosses into nitpicking.

Like someone said earlier, some of you people could suck the fun of a blowjob.

And didn't Starbuck beat up a Six when she was on Caprica in Season 2 (I think).  The Cylons don't always show super strength.  Adama fought Leoban.  Kara fought a Six.  It seems like it is something that can be turned on or off depending on the situation (or for those nitpicking - the writer's whims).

Six pretty much beat the crap out of Kara.  They both fell into a hole and Six got a piece of rebar through her chest which Kara managed not to land on.  I wouldn't say Kara beat her up, she basically got lucky.

I have one question:  Do cylon's age?  How long has Adama known Tigh?  Has he been old man Tigh for like, ever?

There was that one flashback episode with Tigh and Adama trying to get back into the military after a stint in the merchant marine.  I think it was one of the first episodes of season 2, when Adama was chilling in the infirmary courtesy of Boomer.  Tigh either was younger then or just wearing a hair piece, and there was another manifestation of the Adamastache.

That comment I had no problem with as it applied to the current discussion. (and actually kind of agreed with) It was the 'if you hate the show, gtfo and stop ruining for us!' bs that I objected to. We have as much right to be here as any other poster. Our chronic negativity being neither unwarranted nor unjustified.

Some of the Plotholes in this show are inexcusable.  Is it nitpicking to expect excellence in art?

It can even be entertaining and cathartic for others boarders who feel the same way.

(but I think, as well, that these last few episodes have been pretty good)

Its a terrible rite of passage for many. I'll probably buy the last one(s) just because I've been wondering since like the 8th grade how the damn series would end.   :bang:

What plotholes? and Yes, often it is. Except you mean "Perfection" instead of "Excellence".

Here's my nitpick:

How many damn reporters do they actually need anyway? I think some people need to serve a term on the tillium ship ><

That's a good point. It's understandable why there are so many - they were there to cover the decommissioning of Galactica - but it's less clear why they've all kept their positions, especially for so long. Does a population of 39,000 really need twenty-something reporters? My home town (pop. 150,000) probably doesn't have that many.

Adama has known Tigh for 25 years, maybe closer to 30 (I think it was 30 that Adama mentioned in Revelations). Whilst Tigh has memories of being in the merchant marine and later a Viper pilot during the First Cylon War, we have no independent verification of that, although my guess is that it is true and the Final Five have an unusual or different resurrection system to the other Cylons.

It would have been realistic for them to slowly winnow down the numbers of reporters, and maybe catching glimpses of some of the former reporters at other tasks (recruits for the Galactica involved in communication, aides to the President, bartenders, whatever). And to have some guys who do other stuff, but jump into their carefully preserved suit just so they can feel like reporters for a bit...

In my fan wank mind, they probably do all have 'day' jobs if you will. I just wish this was shown. The reporters bug the shit out of me everytime I see them.

What are y'all talking about of course these reporters are absolutely necessary during the long hauls between attacks, coups, and various intriges.  They need these reporters to let the fleet know which toilet is stopped up on which ship.  It saves time and much mess.  I can see the headline now:

TOILET CLOGGED ON GEMINON TRAVELER DECK TWO, FRAME 8, DETAILS ON COLONIAL GOVERNMENT RESPONSE ON PAGE 2

Great. Now I'm going to miss the juicy stuff from the next press conference because I'll be wondering why all those people are there.

j/k

I'm getting excited that this thing is wrapping up in 8 more episodes. When I read a book, I'm constantly glancing at the remaining pages to see how long until the end. Now I'm doing it with Lost and BSG too. Somehow knowing that everything is building to the final climax just makes everything more intense. I'm such a guy. ;)  :wideeyed:

I'll sad to see it over, but I'll be glad at the same time.

I really respect that showrunners are moving more towards telling a story and letting it finish vs milking the cow as long as possible. So whatever nickpicks I might have let me say a big thanks to RDM for bring me 4 seasons of a show at times I've loved or at least loved to hate.

I just finished watching last weeks episode via the Space Channel website. While I do love the fact that I can catch the show now, the picture is so small and dark and often is out of synch. Anyway, I have a couple questions, people may have already answered them in the thread but I don't feel like looking right now, so:

1) Who is the real father of Callie's child? Is it someone we know?
The face looked sorta' familiar but I don't pay enough attention to the tertiary characters to know who it is.

2) Was the file Adama had on Zarick real or was it forged?

1) It was Hotdog.

2) The file was laundry reports. So Adama didn't really have anything on him, but figured that it wasn't a long shot that a politician could be corrupt :P

Ok, that's what I thought.
While I hear names like Hoshi and Hotdog being thrown around on the show I guess I just don't pay enough attention to the goings on to know who they are :P

So then I take it the fact that Zarick played ball is an affirmation that he is corrupt. Kinda' disappointing.

As mentioned, in the black market episode, it's Zarek who sets the wheels in motion that leads Adama to kill off the black market big wheel Phelan ... and then at the end we see Zarek ensconced in the heart of the black market, chatting with one of Phelan's cronies. He clearly seems to have used Adama in hopes of getting him to rub out someone who was blocking him from getting his fingers into the black market.

Now, what he intended to do with a role in the black market was always speculative; maybe he meant to make it more equitable. But it does set up the possibility that he's been on the take for a good while.

With you guys on the reporter confusion. I don't remember being bothered by them so much at first because I think they were even introduced in a decent way - if memory serves we got some kind of "Capital Gang"  knockoff on the first-season episode Colonial Day and the anchors were commenting on how great it is to be back on the air. The only remotely plausible reason I can think of is that there's somehow a news organization for each colony, or at least that's probably the way it was before everything got nuked. Would those institutions have failed in three years? I don't know.

We can also figure that any reporter who was assigned to cover the Secretary of Education probably wasn't at the top of the journalism class. So, maybe we only see the reporters at the press conferences because all they know how to do is transcribe officials' statements and they can't actually get their own sources.

I got nothin'.
