Man, I don't know. That post is making me tingle. Why would he post the cover and not say anything? If he was still plugging away and had simply finished a Jon chapter, wouldn't he tell us? Seems like a classic Martin masterstroke. I can imagine him sitting there, having just mailed the finished manuscript, dropping that post with a "check mate" smile.

See, i'm sure he just finished a Jon chapter...but the possibility...don't hope....its bad for you...

He posted a picture of a cover and say 'nuff said', considering how eagerly we've all be waiting it seems unlikely he would be teasing. It must be done. The only other possibility is that someone hacked his website.

It just means that he made good progress on a Jon chapter. Maybe he finished a chapter for Jon.

After 5 years struggling to write Dance, do you think that GRRM would be so nonchalant with his announcement that he's finished? I doubt it. Really, really doubt it.

It seems pretty clear to me that he's referring to a Jon chapter, especially when you read the previous post. He probably didn't realize that people would interpret his rather vague posting as a statement that he's finished with the entire book. Or he could be deliberately messing with you. Would you be upset if it turns out that he's not done? In this case, I'd be happy to be wrong, but I see little chance of that happening.

Well, personally, I think the ADWD cover and mood=accomplished means George definitely feels good about something so that also makes me feel great.

He hasn't changed the ADWD Update yet, though, and i guess I'll wait for that :)

Yeah, I agree with that, which is why I think he just didn't realize that people would interpret his posting that way. Hopefully, he'll clarify this quickly before too many people get the wrong idea, assuming that he's not really finished.
