Been excited for this since they announced the cast and the trailer has only helped. Should be awesome!

I don't know. Multiple predators hunting earth's most dangerous men...using predator dogs?

Meh.

Youtube trailer here

I'm withholding all expectations until the first review comes out.

Well, if it's any good than yes, it would be a worthy sequel. Seems premature to say that until anyone's seen or reviewed it though ;)

Yeah, it's not bad.

But it looks really really thin on plot. I mean you already know what you're gonna get in this movie, and how it ends. Everyone except Jude Law and the chick dies, and then somehow in the end they persevere, or go out in a blaze. Yawn.

So what?

Aliens didn't have a particularly deep plot, and it was awesome. Predator didn't have a particularly deep plot, and it was awesome. Die Hard didn't either - still awesome. (heck, Die Hard 2 had the EXACT SAME plot and was still awesome!)

Sometimes people being bad ass while using giant guns to fight hugely strong, sneaky aliens with really cool alien weapons is enough of a plot. Sometimes that's okay.

Cool trailer... but I've been hurt before. Genre sequels are like alcoholic loved ones in so many ways.

Laurence Fishburne may be a third survivor if he isn't the second one killed. Woman survives. Sword guy's a goner.

Blah...the guys are not 'roided up enough! Give me hulking man-things with giant guns and screaming in an Austrian accent...even though you know, he is AMERICAN special forces. GET TO DAH CHOPPA!

It may be the best SciFi movie ever...but it will never replace the original in my heart.

I imagine Sword Guy (does he say he's Yakuza in the trailer?) goes out in a very Billy-like manner. Interesting to see how Topher Grace's characters fit in. There's all these bad ass killers and soldiers and then nerdy little Topher.

And gotta agree with Kalbear. We know the plot, it's almost surely not going to be any different than the one line said in the trailer (this is a game preserve, and we're the game). But it will still be bad ass.

If anything, it will take away the bad taste of the Alien vs. Predator movies.

I had thought that Topher played some horrible serial killer type. Could be wrong.

hold on a second was that a predator hunting dog in the trailer? This looks like good old mindless fun with a little bit of a "cube" vibe in that they have been gathered for the game. I'm pleased the two franchises have been separated and always felt Predator got a raw deal as its sequel was good too and therefore didn't need a band aid like aliens did.

As long as its well done I dont care how thin the plot is. I enjoy a mindless action flicks, Sometimes I like to check my brain at the door to the theatre.

I think you're right, but he just lacks the aura of badassedness the rest have. Even Shane from The Shield is at least in a prison jumpsuit whereas Topher just sort of looks like he came from Economics class (not that there's anything wrong with Econ). Which is probably the point in that he's the serial killer guy next door you'd never suspect.

But when he's standing between Danny Trejo and Oleg Taktarov he just doesn't quite fit in. Doesn't take away from how awesome the movie looks at all.

And Paul Reiser is too old to play the part so they got Topher.
