Ser Scot A Ellison
Once again our illustrious government is subjecting the vast majority of the population of the U.S. to Circadian torture. Tonight, in order to be on time to meetings, hearings, and various other time specific functions we must "spring forward" an hour. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!!!!!Pick one, please, for the love of God and all else that is holy just pick one and stop making us changePlease...[Thread title edited since this thread was necroed and my annual thread was merged]
Jaime L
I'm pumped. I mean, yeah, would prefer not to have a 47 hour weekend. But means it's going to still be sunny out at freaking 7:30 PM at night. While...I'm...still...at...work......F'ing farmers.
MinDonner
We have another two weeks yet. Which means it'll be at least slightly lighter out when 5am starts being called 6am and I have to get up in the middle of the fucking night. But, on the plus side, it means we get daylight till 10pm come summer, so on balance I can put up with it.
RWHamel
This always reminds me of the automation I put in place for Galileo Intl. in 1998 that replaced all the manual tweaking to account for the time changes in the US andUK, and the coordination between the two. Fast forward to 2003 when I found some dweeb from IBM throwing out all the documentation, including my contribution, and of course my eventual removal. I always get a kick thinking about the changes the Bush administration made to when this takes place. :)
Nas!
You know, Scot, putting the phrase "sucks donkey balls" in your thread title is a bit misleading to those who are of the opinion that such an action would not be entirely unpleasant for all involved parties.Just a FYI from the Friends of the Equus Africanus Asinus. TheBigTEA
I love it...not the loosing the hour of sleep, but the extra hour of daylight sure is nice. Though I do agree they just need to leave it alone and pick one (preferably the one with the longest evening)and stick with it.
Arbor Gold
While I'm usually down with the spring forward thing overall, I am highly annoyed that i have to go to the east coast next week (again), and the one hour + the three hour time change means I have a royally fucked up week to look forward to. :(
Tormund Ukrainesbane
Have fun everyone! I'll just keep my clock where it is.
Shryke
It could be worse. Here in Canada, some of the provinces don't observe DST, meaning the time zone line actually switches back and forth.

Bronn Stone
There is no single annual event that accomplishes so much for so little. I get better sleep in the morning, more time in the evening AND to bug the living bejeebies out of Ser Scot. Thank you Benjamin Franklin!
Ser Scot A Ellison
Bronn,I take it you sleep better when it's dark outside? What really sucks is I have to be in the office disgustingly early on Monday. It's just my luck it coincides with the onset of DST.

Ser Scot A Ellison
I'd love to visit Iceland. The photo of the East Coast of Iceland at Sunrise on the bing home page a couple of days ago was beautiful.
