Morneau knocks two homers today!  Woo!!  Maybe he's getting his mojo back, he's been having a rough go of it this season.

This serious between the Giants and Cardinals is taking years off of my life.

But I do appreciate being the ESPN game back-to-back nights.  I do not get to watch my team often enough.

Yahoo, Twins thump KC!!

I know it's Kansas City.  I know that.  It just feels good to win one for a change.

Anybody else think Sabean should shut the hell up?  I pull for the Giants usually, as I have a ton of friends who are Giants fans, but I thought he came off a bit prickish in his recent comments.

I'm still pissed about the Posey thing and even I think his comments were dickish.  It's one thing to say you think he shouldn't have done what he did (which is probably extreme in and of itself for a GM, but there's nothing horrible about it) and another entirely to say you'd be happy if his career was over.  Asshat.

I think Cousins handled it pretty well in his response though.

Agreed. Sabes needs to shut it. Lucking into a title doesn't give him license to be an asshole.

I'm in complete agreement, and I'll even take it one step further: it would be a better world if everyone involved with the Giants would just shut their filthy mouths. Forever.  I hate you.

You've taken it too far. I don't even have to fire back, you sound so pitifully bitter!

Ever more proof that the Cubs v. Cards rivalry is a distant third as far as rivalries go.

Hey, speaking of that....

Sabean is at least admitting he f***ed the pooch on this one.

Seems that the Giants' statement about Sabean's supposed reversal is full of qualifiers.  "Apology" was never mentioned, just "clarification".  My daddy always told me to never qualify an apology, because a qualified apology is not an apology at all.

Don't get confused.

Giants fans think Sabean should shut up.

In some weird ninja move a Padres fan said...

...something.

A Dodger fan acted like petulant baby (I'm NOT saying it's you; just that I guarantee it happened somewhere at that exact second)

And then you mentioned an apology. That never happened. According to your daddy. Just sayin'

Eh, he was unwilling to back up 24 hours after he made them; this reeks of someone in the front office going, "hey Sabes, everyone kind of thinks you're a dick" and someone crafting a "statement" to be released as linked.  I didn't really get any sense that Sabean thinks he fucked the pooch, just that someone in the Giants' organization realized that he was creating negative PR and did some damage control.

I didn't quite get that sense.  I don't think he's all that sincere, but he realizes he went too far.  But he pretty much has carte blanche in that organization.  There is nobody but the owners to tell him he's wrong.

This is totally random as I'm just watching some highlights this morning, but when SF goes with the white pants, orange jerseys, and black hats as they did last night...that's a sharp look.

I think that is their look every home Friday this season.  They call it "Orange Friday" and encourage their fans to wear Orange Giants gear (rather than the more common black with orange highlights).  It brings me uncomfortable memories of the late 70's.  As a Padres fan, I am more traumatized by 70's uniform flashbacks than most others.

I also dig that Giants uniform, as well as the A's Green shirt/White pants combo.

As I noted earlier, Brent Lillibridge has two more homers than Adam Dunn. I didn't expect Dunn to strike out less when coming to the Sox, but holy shit .180 with 5 home runs? He needs to chill the fuck out cause I think he's just mentally killing himself.
