When Rick allows Victor Lazlo to convince the band to drown out "Die Wacht am Rhein" with "La Marseilles".
I tear up every time I see it, and I've seen it dozens of times.
That's pretty hard to beat, I must say. I tear up too, and I'm not even French! But ranking right up there, albeit hitting a different emotional note, is from the same movie where Captain Louis Renault (Claude Rains) is "shocked, SHOCKED' to find gamblling going on in Rick's establishment, right before accepting his gambling winnings. The scene of his decision at the airport is pretty damn epic too. Come to think of it, every time he appears he's awesome.
Omar Sharif's entrance scene from
Lawrence of Arabia.
The last scene from
The Talented Mr. Ripley.
The "Tiny Dancer" scene on the bus from
Almost Famous.
Will Smith's jet chase scene with the alien from
Independence Day. I still laugh every time I see it.
Hell, there's way too many to list. And it seems as though if a movie has one fantastic scene, it's got a LOT more.
