I like how they're subverting the whole, "Hooker with a heart of gold" stereotype with Roslin. She really couldn't give two ****s about Theon.

I confess, loving her seems DRASTICALLY out of character for Theon though.

What's with completely cutting out the wolves from the series, seriously.  I was not happy with the Bran/Rob/Osha woods scene wolf-free.  Uncool.  

Also, where the hell is Jon???  That's two episodes now!!!  

I did love the opening scene and Bron in the Eyrie.    Yay!  Most of the episode was great but I won't stop griping about making the wolves as small a part as the show seems to be doing.  And what's with all the Theon and Roz crap?  Who cares?  That scene was just to get some HBO vagina in there.  Lame.

I'm positive GRRM was talking about the casting of Shae so I don't think that's true.

You guys complain too much.  That was a great episode from start to finish.  I din't really have any problems with it at all.  Alas I too am in the no HBO go zone with my cable provider.

So a couple quick thoughts

It seems like they're setting Roz up to take Shae's place; she certainly have this much time in the book, and I don't remember any mention of her heading south.  Not sure that this is a big deal either; it would really just end up a name change.  Shae isn't much more of a character other than 'the camp follower Tyrion fell for'

They're also definitely playing up fireproof dragons.  A bit interesting since I remember seeing quotes from GRRM about the birth of the dragons and Dany's not burning being a one-time thing.  BUt again, not that big a deal, it adds a bit of mysticism to her, adds some foreshadowing, and doesn't have any long term impact on the story as written (so far)

Only really noted one added scene from teh books, showing Robert on the hunt.  Liked it, especially Lancel feeding him more wine, and Barristan looking a bit suspicious of that.

Still no direwolves for Bran and Robb though!
