Sort of. I could see that he was a product of his situation, but unlike Theon, I got the feeling that he enjoyed being a dick, which sort of diminished it for me. He hardly helped himself with the way he acted around the Dothraki.
Did anyone else feel sorry for Viserys?

yes, at the end, I did fall sad for him in a strange way. More pity than sympathy, as certainly deserved his fate. I was just sad it came to that.
Yes, exactly, pity is the word I was looking for. He was cruel, cowardly, arrogant, and often quite stupid, but as even Dany admitted, he also taught her everything she knows about Westeros, and in his way cared for her while she was just a child. I also think his personality was in not a small part shaped by being the "beggar king", permanently humiliated and laughed at by the perfumed Eastern nobility. The tendencies towards madness he inherited from his father certainly didn't help.
Joffrey, on the other hand, I laughed with joy when that little bastard died. No pity at all, just pure joy at the little monster's death. Viserys at least had some redeeming qualities, Joffrey had none. He was more cruel, more arrogant, more cowardly and even stupider that Viserys. His torture of Sansa was far worse than anything Viserys had ever done to Daenerys; he even killed people and animals for fun.

No, I didn't. He deserved it. And he was stupid to stick with Dany. I liked it when Joffrey died too, and liked it that Theon got tortured. Would like much more if he died, along with Jaime Lannister.

Goes to show that children born of incest can often be afflicted by Madness.
Personally I did feel a little sorry for Viserys. He was a dick but not on the same page as Joff, although it should be noted that Joff did have the power to indulge his perversions,
Viserys could well have turned out that way had he ever ascended to the throne.

Loved it. Viserys absolutely deserved it!
