Long synopsis for Great North Road:

http://www.amazon.co...ASIN=0230750052

Publisher: Macmillan (27 Sep 2012)

FFS! That sounds great, I want it now! Guess I'll have to read the Void trilogy in the meantime!

Tirumff: The Double Falsehood by Dan Abnett
So Deep a Malice by John Gwynne (I know it is listed as December 7, 2012...but how come its not up on Amazon (US or UK)?)
The Complete Sea Beggars by Paul Kearney
Dangerous Women Anthology edited by George R.R. Martin

Thanks!

Orbit US Fall 2012/Winter 2013 catalog:

http://edelweiss-ass...3_WATERMRKD.pdf

Plot synopsis for Banks' The Hydrogen Sonata:

Quote

It is, truly, provably, the End Days for the Gzilt civilization.

An ancient people, they helped set up the Culture ten thousand years earlier and were very nearly one of its founding societies, deciding not to join only at the last moment. Now they’ve made the collective decision to follow the well-trodden path of millions of other civilizations; they are going to Sublime, elevating themselves to a new and almost infinitely more rich and complex existence.

Amidst preparations though, the Regimental High Command is destroyed and Cossont is blamed. Wanted dead — not alive. Now, aided only by an ancient, reconditioned android and a suspicious Culture avatar, Cossont must complete her last mission given to her by the High Command — find the oldest person in the Culture, a man over nine thousand years old, who might have some idea what really happened all that time ago. Cossont must discover the truth before she’s exiled from her people and her civilization forever — or just plain killed.

Tirumff: The Double Falsehood by Dan Abnett

This is on Dan's list of things to write, but was seriously delayed by his illness. He's still catching up on his Black Library projects, so I suspect this will still be a way off. It doesn't sound like much work has been done on it.

The Complete Sea Beggars by Paul Kearney

Paul's working on it now and Solaris want it out in the autumn, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a slip to 2013.

Dangerous Women Anthology edited by George R.R. Martin

This is either a late 2012 or early 2013 release, I believe.

Interesting new catalogue from Orbit US.

Likely to pick up from that:

Hydrogen Sonata-Banks-October ( sounds better than Matter and Surface detail which I didn't pick up)
The Red Knight-Cameron-December
Times of Contempt-Sapkowski-December
Wolfhound Century-Higgins-March

Red Country I will of course buy the UK edition from.

Love this synopsis for Wolfhound Century btw, and a great cover as well.

Quote

A thousand miles east of Mirgorod, the great capital city of the Vlast, deep in the ancient forest, lies the most recent fallen angel, its vast stone form half-buried and fused into the rock by the violence of impact. As its dark energy leeches into the crash site, so a circle of death expands around it, slowly - inexorably - killing everything it touches. Alone in the wilderness, it reaches out with its mind. The endless forest and its antique folk lore are no concern to Inspector Vissarion Lom, summoned to the capital in order to catch a terrorist - and ordered to report directly to the head of the secret police. A totalitarian state, worn down by an endless war, must be seen to crush home-grown terrorism with an iron fist. But Lom discovers Mirgorod to be more corrupted than he imagined: a murky world of secret police and revolutionaries, cabaret clubs and doomed artists. Lom has been chosen because he is an outsider, not involved in the struggle for power within the party. And because of the sliver of angel stone implanted in his head at the children's home. Lom's investigation reveals a conspiracy that extends to the top echelons of the party. When he exposes who - or rather what - is the controlling intelligence behind this, it is time for the detective to change sides. Pursued by rogue police agents and their man-crushing mudjhik, Lom must protect Kantor's step-daughter Maroussia, who has discovered what is hidden beneath police headquarters: a secret so ancient that only the forest remembers. As they try to escape the capital and flee down river, elemental forces are gathering. The earth itself is on the move.

We have another one: Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes.

I pitched my book as a "teen Game of Thrones" and it worked at getting me an agent at least.

I'm eager to see if this really is the beginning of a wave of Martin-esque books in YA. I hope so, it'd be a boon for me.

I'll know sooner than later, I guess.

That's actually one of the best things he ever wrote (in my humble opinion), but it is old and available for free on the web:

But seriously, no new money for that guy.

Nope. Scott Lynch himself confirmed (on my blog) that this date has been pulled out of thin air. The book will follow RoT and no release date has been set for either, yet.

"The Three Princes War by Pierre Pevel"

Anyone know what happened to this book ? Was supposed to be out this month. It's a bit confusing as the publisher has no book by that title on their site, they have a book named The High Kingdom listed for release in September 2012 -

http://www.orionbook...s/pevel-pierre2

Even more confusing is that amazon has The High Kingdom listed for release in March 21st 2013,furthermore, amazon has The Three Princes War still listed for release in Sep 2012 .

I have the ARC sitting on my coffee table (next to the Morgan Rhodes book as it happens) and as soon as I'm done with 'The Darkness That Comes Before' I shall be reading it!
