Always thought about light skinned africans, like a variatino from somewhat- indian like color skin to northern africa, but different in culture.

But I much more see Tyene as nearly scandinavian: pale, platine blonde, blue eyes... strange to see that she must have taken all from her mother. ^^

A tall, strong, not very handsome, musculated and sulky woman one for Obara.
A beautiful tall, dark-haired, dark-eyed, and feline woman for Lady Nym.
A innocent-looking blonde girl, seemingly shy and quiet woman for Tyene.
A small young dark-skined and curly-haired woman for Sarella.
By casting them according to the books, they are already damned different... and if they can find actresses with similar eyes and the V on the forehead, it would be perfect.

Sand Snakes: I really think there should be onwe sand snake on television... then money can be spent on other things and to much faces only make things confusing.

Sarella / The Sphinx may turn important too, so, I'd say that at least the 4 older might be in the show... and maybe one from Ellaria.

Well Persia isn't a desert. FYI, Persians and Arabs are not the same. Persians can sometimes actually look "white".
As for my thoughts, since Dorne is quite obviously based on Spain, particularly the Muslim part, I was always thinking North African/tanned Hispanic for the salty Dornishmen. The mountain Dornishmen - just plain old white people.

That's even though I tend to think of Dorne as a more Spanish / Sicilian type of place.
But in terms of having both the witty tongue and physical/combat capabilities that I expect from the character Oberyn, I think he could do it.
(And if Alayaya in the book somehow became Ros in the show, I'm sure this is less of a stretch.)

And I'm sold on Sarah for Arianne btw. She's perfect.
