I had the exact same problem after not using my work computer for 3 weeks. I had to delete the cache on my browser and restart the machine. Before this I could hit the 'sign in' button, enter my name and password and nothing would happen; I would get no error but I would still not be signed in.

Now I appear to be good.

Indeed much better (with your only true name back ;) ).

Now you just need to have the dancing panda again (it was a dancing panda wasn't it?)  My memory needs glasses!

If I were allowed to edit my own profile, I'd actually switch that.

I had this problem too with my old account (Miryana Storm). I noticed this perhaps a week ago, with no success logging in even though I tried repeatedly and had posted after the board was recently upgraded. After a few tries I saw a message, something like "account will be automatically unlocked in 14 minutes", which made no sense and never actually happened. I cleared the cache, and tried both the computers in my house. I clicked "if you've forgotten your password" - and then realised that since I'm not an active member I probably hadn't changed my profile's old email address for my current one. Now I just decided to try creating a new account. And for some reason, logging in worked with this one.

What could be the problem? Is there any chance I might still return to my old account if whatever logging in problem I had disappears, or, if the password was reset and sent to my now nonexistent old email address, has the account become completely inaccessible? Is there a staff email address that I can send mail to in case my problem returns and I can't even post my questions in Help with this new account?

I have this problem too. I was Cruella_Da_Oz, and although far from senior member or anything like that, still would like my old account back. I emailed administrator two times as adviced in the thread, but got no reply. It's been awhile so I don't think it is because they are busy. Probably should email someone else, but to whom?

I'm having something of a similar problem, but only at work.

When I click the 'sign in' button and fill in my name and password it returns me to..the default page. Not signed in.

If I reset my cache and restart my computer, as long as I'm at work I get the same non-error error.
If I take the same machine at work to a non-work network (like a wifi connection) I can log in without any issue. And I can stay logged in if I go to work and use the computer from there, now that I'm logged in. (until it logs me out again).

I've had it able to get me logging in correctly at work once - but only for one day.

I'm also having this problem with my old account: WarGalley. I haven't posted in awhile so I hope it hasn't been deleted or anything.

Can someone help me with this (or direct me on what to do)?

Hey there, man. Long time, no see!
Anyway, there have been a couple of different instances where people lost their accounts (two or three different causes). I think the best thing to do is PM Ran, because he might be able to easily walk you through the steps to get your old account back. :)

FYI: with the new removal of profile viewing and stuff, I can log in again. I have no idea what was changed, but at least (for now) things work.

Never mind, it's still the same bizarre behavior - the board still won't refresh at work more than once a day, topics are out of sync, etc. Oh well.

Very weird. I've no idea what that could cause that, Kal.
