I just looked at Pebble's pics and I look like I'm attacking Mrs Targh. Excellent.

edit: can anyone recall which panel George mentioned his slight 'error' with Tyrion's character in GOT being more athletic than he later made him?

Fabulous con.  Great to meet everyone and the GoT viewing at the end was a very nice way to end the trip.

Some of the things that cross my mind... Its always wonderful to meet old friends again.  But furthermore, every con throws up a number new people (they probably don't realise how many there are, so they are not alone!) and in this con, like all others before, they were great fun.

I barely talked to Mina Martell but major props to her for challenging the views of a few of the panelists on the infamous Women of Westeros panel.  Not once but twice!  And Samantha tried also after the panel ended.  Although, as noted, there was one intelligent person on that panel, as mentioned.

Wert's interview went very well also.  We stuffed ourselves way too many times at the Pheasant.  Jo did a brilliant job with the party.  Commendations to everyone else that helped also.  And to the con organisers themselves.  Nice that a number of the cast showed up.  And GRRM and Parris were as friendly and amazing as ever.  Quiz was fun too...if a little humbling!

I really can't think of anything significant that went awry.  Hopefully i'll see people again soon. :)

14. Someone (you know who you are) wanted another badge but was too lazy to walk out of the bar and cross the street to my car. so will be claiming one at Titaincon. Someone else (again you know who you are) was very proud of their blame Pod Badge - and will be coming to Titan Con or I will tell everyone what he really blames Pod for. And Trust me Pod doesn't want me to tell.
Now that is just confusing. :P

Hi guys! Finally settled back home after a long long day spent at Heathrow waiting for my flight. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, putting all the BwB meetings together and making us fl00bs a part of the group. Big thanks to George and Parris and friends for taking so much time for us, that was fantastic!

Being new to the con experience I can't really compare it to any other con but I think it was amazing all through, the committé did a fantastic job, here's to all of them!

Lord Jo with pets and fancies, fantastic job arranging the parties, the fight demonstration with interview, the screening and everything involved. Peadar did a great interview with John Bradley-West and it was a lot of fun. Wonderwoman, Aly and Eloisa were brave female fighters to everyones great joy. Very little blood was spilled that day, the blood that was spilled, well we know who to blame. Not Pod!

I could go on and on but it's really late and up early for work tomorrow, Kissdbyfire was my superb roommate and we had a lot of fun, lovely pics Pebs, and thanks for the hugs and taking care of us lost fl00bs  I finally had a real Pebble's hug and it was much better than the virtual ones, by far. Champion of hugs on Saturday though - Adz! We are very huggable people aren't we. :grouphug:

If blame is due, I blame the caipiroska. :leaving:

Thanks all of you for everything! I loved it and I hope to see you soon again. Hopefully at Titancon!

Thank you! :D
Yes we are. :grouphug:

I actually liked the caipiroska a lot. Another one would probably have been my death, though.   :leaving:

My cough is a lot better, but now my voice is completely gone. :frown5:  I'm heading to the doctor in a minute.

Finally got home last night after a fantastic weekend!

Major thanks have to go to Jo for all the organizing/hard work, sword cuts and, on a personal level, delicious vegan food

Other thanks there are: Mountain Goat for his continual, never-ending, unceasing, interminable and constant work.

Thanks to Adz for the chocolate and the Nork food. Thanks to Pebble for her continuing sales and marketing.

Thanks to everybody, and I mean everybody, for being so kind to the Dreaded Nork. You put it so completely at ease, that it never once struck out in rage. Good job!

It was delightful to see so many aging old faces and I had some nice chats with the Newbies too. Hopefully we'll see a lot more of them in future. We're a great bunch and only getting better :)

Also, the screening was such fun, it might make a great regular event?

I'm supposed to be working, so that will have to suffice. Apologies to all the hard workers I left out!

MG! Can't believe I forgot to mention the lord! :leaving:

In honor of the incident known as the Spoonfishing, my title is now corrected... If it please m'lord

Also great ASoIaF discussion late Monday night everyone, I wish we could do that in RL more often.

The Nork was a delight, all our fears proved to be unfounded. Or someone did a great job appeasing the Nork beforehand mayhaps so all was well and the villagers were safe.

To be completely fair about the Women of Westeros panel, Anne C Perry was good and many of the audience had useful contributions. Other than that, the main problem was that it was just terribly badly moderated and didn't have a great panel selection.

Indeed.

SoT: Don't worry about the long and laborious rants.  Mina and I were doing that exact thing in the Party in the Corridor for quite the while on Saturday night! (And my husband had to restrain me during the actual panel for fear that I would get up and punch one of the panel members that wasn't Anne Perry)

aaw, that would have been fun!

Aside for his hard work, I forgot to thank Mountain Goat for finding space for us on Sunday! that was fun.

Just wanted to join in and say it was fab being at my first ever con. It was great to meet old friends and new.
Thanks particularly to Jo for organising the BwB party and Monday's screening which was simply awesome! Got to say great credit goes to George & Parris who are so amiable and accessible to their fans. I just wanted to stay in that pub-room forever; food, drink, GoT on the TV, GRRM and fellow obsessives like me!

BTW If anybody fancies a laugh here’s the link to my video of me performing my self-penned “Lost Cowboy Song”.  http://youtu.be/BD3NgEJ3fcI
My mid-life crisis has manifested as a desire to play... I’m in the black jacket, my tutor is the other guy, he's playing all the cool stuff! Look away if you don't like country...

I especially enjoyed Wert's David Frost style interview with George and Paedar's impromptu and much more irreverant interview with John Bradley-West, who gave as good as he got.  Plus Jo's stunt fighting demonstration with Miltos Yerolemou, where the BWB was well represented.  I can't be bothered finding the links but I'm pretty sure they have video of all of that in the non-forums bit of westeros.

Got to also mention LMG, who showed his born leadership skills yet again; MCGeek, who is a fucking robot sent from the future programmed to party; the lovely n00bs who not only are very cool and totally at ease in the company of celebrity authors and actors but who also helped win the pub quiz for their team up against a team of old hands AND the dreaded Nork, who was simply lovely and willing to dive into traffic to stop a cab while the rest of us dithered about getting a bus (and yes Samantha, we probably could have just walked).

I even captured the Nork's image on digital file format in a very sweet picture of her and Peadar.  I'm torn between posting it and destroying the mythos forever or keeping it all to myself which frankly seems a little creepy.

I realised I did have a image among the photo's I've uploaded.   I have now edited the photo to protect the minds of the innocents.

If anyone else would like their image protected please let me know.

Ah, thanks for that, Pebs!

John, it was a pleasure to be one of the Nightwalkers with you. But, probably better to keep the photo secret, as the Nork doesn't get on well with the intertubes and might react viciously.

your welcome  :)   although to be honest   my editing is not that flattering,  I do hope the Nork finds it ammusing not insulting.   The editied Nork looks really creepy now and has tenticals for fingers. Considering I had to use photobuckets editing options I don't think I did a bad job.

My particular photo will remain a treasured secret on my hard drive then.  i did take a fair few photos but since Peb's efforts eclipse them in both quantity and quality I don't think I'll link them.

We could! Though it would have taken longer than the taxi............and I will concede to the fact that the taxi wasn't as expensive as I was expecting it to be.

But we could have just walked! :P
