Yeah, I guess i'd agree with all of those.  This thread might not last quite as long as the evil thread

ETA: I would add Dany to the list, although I realize this is controversial.

I'm not so sure about Osha, people.  She participated in the original attack on Brandon Stark.

I would greatly disagree.  Daenerys is busy crucifying people and having them burnt to death.  Fascinating character and I am not in the Dany-hate camp, but I don't consider her a good character.

I would add Catelyn Stark to the list, though.  But I know that will be another controversial addition.

I'm just excited I get to list poor Pod somewhere  , and yes, Dany gets honourable mention, and could make the top ten of the list.

I wouldn't rate Daenerys as evil, however.

Like Melisandre, she's difficult to categorise as good or evil.

I'd add Lady Stoneheart before I added Catelyn.

I'd agree with that; I definitely don't think she's evil. She is trying to do what she perceives as being good... the problem is that it isn't good and her desire for bloody vengeance gets in the way.

I think Dany has a highly developed sense of compassion, duty and justice, but Mereen has become an impossible situation for her.  Her royal attitude, stubbornness and Targeryan/'fire and blood' heritage are the other side of that coin which complicates matters.  Still, she is an interesting and complex character... she is no Davos or Brienne, but I'd put her more in the 'good' camp than not.  I'm not sure if it's possible to be both 'good' AND try to build a kingdom for yourself out of sheer determination and a few dragon eggs, but Dany is the closest we will see, I think.

And I've never seen her be all gung ho about going out and crucifying people.. is this something she orders herself?

Well, she had a poor wineseller's daughters tortured in front of him to get him to cough up some names (here's to hoping the Shavepate has no enemies in Mereen) because he had the misfortune to have someone poisoned in his inn (hello, Masha Heddle)
She demanded 160-odd Mereenese be delivered to her for crucifixion with no attempt to ascertain their guilt.  My belief is that she either received slaves dressed up in tokars or the entire opposition party that plagues the Green Grace.

So much for compassion, duty and justice.

Melisandre?? Hard to categorise? The woman makes shadow babies, and wants to sacrifice children because they have King's blood! The woman is evil.

Good people can do "bad" things under duress, and extreme provocation.

Agree with brashcandy.  Also, I just Googled "crucify" and Daenerys and one of the items was the Dany reread thread.  So I might have to jump on that sometime :)

Dany appears to be a genuinely good caring person but also is turning out to be just as bat shit crazy as her dear old dad. It seems like she's only caring for select people, everyone else feels her "fire and blood" wrath. One really badass, but also slightly "evil" thing she did was getting her unsullied warriors. She agreed to terms to purchase the unsullied for the price of a dragon, there was no swindling of any kind on the side of the Astapor slavers. They reached an honest agreement and then she burned them alive, took the unsullied, and kept the dragon. How's that for a good act? haha

see, I'd argue that this plays to her sense of justice (!), because she views the creation of Unsullied as being fundamentally evil and wrong.

An honest agreement? The men were bold faced about cheating Dany, and were depraved sadists.

Yet she's willing to make use of them.  Some sense of justice, that.

She went to buy the unSullied and couldn't afford too -- so she used the insults lobbed at her and the evil way in which they are created to justify cheating and murdering the Astapor slavers.

Samwell Tarly
Ned
Jon
Brienne
Sansa
Davos
Barristan
Bran

The rest are largely compromised and debateable. Id add Jaime and Catelyn for example but can understand their omission
