Who is/are your favourite character/s so far?

I've just finished Storm of Swords, am now about 100 pages in to Feast for Crows.

One thing I really felt through SoS was that my opinions on some characters changed quite a lot. Unlike a lot of people, there weren't many characters I really didn't like but I've grown to like some of them a lot more.

Sansa was one person who I really came to feel for. She annoyed me massively in GoT and even in CoK I found her quite grating. I still find it frustrating that she is so passive a lot of the time but I think Martin manages to convey that it arises from the fact that Sansa was born and bred to be a fine lady. She's still incredibly blinkered to the reality of the cruel world she's living in. She's not my favourite, but she certainly annoys me a lot less. I also found myself

completely disgusted by Littlefinger's advances on her. Not surprised at all, just... creeped out. Especially as, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe Sansa is only 14 - 15 years of age at this point.

Arya and Jon are definitely my two favourite characters.

I've had a soft spot for Arya since the first book and the more I read her chapters, the more I love her. I actually found some of her storyline in SoS quite grating. It was a constant hither and thither and as soon as she

got taken by the Hound, it was just, "Will she run away? Will she kill him? Oh no, look, she hasn't." I actually felt really bad for the Hound, especially when Arya refused to give him mercy. I kind of feel like he did deserve it.

I'm really looking forward to reading more on Arya in FFC!

Jon's chapters in SoS, particularly those after he

returned to the Night's Watch

were so, so exciting. I love him as a character and I was grinning like an idiot when

he got made Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

So, who are your favourite characters so far? Who have you changed your mind about?

Viserys - Daenerys should have died, if a Targaryen had to

Tywin

Walder - I always just thought he was okay, but hilarious what with being 92 and having scores of descendants, but after the Red Wedding he ROCKETED up my list

Jaime - although spending about two books in the dungeons makes me like him a little less than when he was introduced

Gregor

Sandor

Vargo

The "Ice River Cannibals"

Walder Frey

My favorite is by far Arya. I've always identified with characters that appear weak but try their damnedest to destroy that image. Arya is seen as insignificant in everything but her name, but she is way too proud to let her small stature and gender get in the way of her desires.

My other favorites are Tyrion (obviously), Jon Snow, and Bran. I identify with them for similar reasons as I listed for Arya, but unlike Arya, they are all much more wise about the world and its people.

Smaller characters I love are Varys, Tormund Giantsbane, and Meera Reed.

Leroy. You Ser have a morbid fascination with villians! :P

I for one love Samwell Tarly to bits! However Davos has become my favourite, it takes guts to tell a King, especially a hard headed one like Stannis the truth, rather than what he wants to hear. I also love the fact that he does not begrudge Stannis for the fact that after saving him and his people he had his fingers chopped off, instead he truly loves Stannis (in a platonic way.)

In Martin's Song my favorite chracters are

1. Jon Snow: Reminds me of being a young man and always wanting freedom, love and honor.

2. Stannis: Stubborn, stupid, smart, witty

3. Theon Greyjoy: Great character loved his parts in DWD, the best parts of the book.

4. Ser Jorah: Strong and silent

5. Queen Cersei: Bad to the bone . .

6. Varys the Eunuch: I want this guy to die so bad, but love his master game player to me the best game player in the series.

7. Victarion and Moqorro: I like the roles that Martin gives to other ethnicities while in many fantasy world such as LOTR, they think everyone is white. Martin realizes the Ebon Skinned and the Milky White skinned make up a world.

and, the greatest character in all of ASOIAF the great SAMWELL TARLY!!!!

Favourite characters from the series would have to go to......

1) Stannis Baratheon - One of the cooliest characters in my opinion, the guy just can't seem to die, and keeps coming back for more! I find him to be one of the most interesting characters in the series, the underdog in the family, and in Westeros, yet has determination, and chooses his people wisel (i.e. Davos).

2) Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish - The guy you would definately want on your side should anyhting go wrong. The perfect schemer, always surprises you and keeps you questioning his motives throughout the series.

3) Jon Snow - The mystery of his past just makes him such a more interesting character. A character who shows what duty means, always giving it his all, and provides an interesting POV in aSoIaF!

I've come to about a half of the first part of the book, and so far only few of characters that I loved since the first book stayed as my favorite..

First one is definitely Arya. I always loved her character, and when I read the book, I just can't wait to get to her chapters.

Than, Bran. He has that great connection with Summer. I believe his character is of great importance. And I too have soft heart for broken things, I guess..

And the others.. Sam. I don't care what other people say about him, I love that guy. And I was really happy when I read how he killed one of the white walkers!

I also like Brienna. I was always like a son to my father, and I loved playing with wooden swords, bows, guns more than playing with dolls, and I never thought of myself as pretty and stuff, so.. I don't know what happens later in the book, but I swear that there is some kind of chemistry or something between her and Jamie, and it's crazy. Especially during that sword fight.

Tyrion.. He was one of my favorites, along with Arya, but I became a bit dissapointed when he started to fall in love with this whore of his. I just thought that he is smarter than that..

I also loved Rob, but that marriage really got on my nerves, I could not believe that he is that stupid. But I guess that runs in the family..

And Dany, of course, she's ok for now..

Stannis, witty? Well I never :P

He does possess a parched dry wit.

2) Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish - The guy you would definately want on your side should anyhting go wrong. The perfect schemer, always surprises you and keeps you questioning his motives throughout the series.

I'm not sure anyone should want to have Baelish on their side. He'll only be on your side for as long as it's in his own best interest and will have no remorse or hesitation whatsoever for stabbing you in the back when it fits his plans.

If you want a good ally, you are better off in choosing Jon Snow, Ned Stark, Stannis Baratheon or even Samwell Tarly.

Yes, but everyone in King's Landing seems to make the mistake of assuming they can keep Baelish close to his vest. He's the most untrustworthy man in the seven kingdoms!
