Yeah that week 2 loss could come back and hurt the Bengals both a loss and a possible tiebreaker. I'm not sure that Denver can keep it up for that but it looks possible. Minnesota and Chiefs looks winnable, Bills and Bears who knows with how they look now and Patriots should be a loss for Denver.

Agreed. It must be nice to play several teams with no QB at the end of the season. All of the games except the Patriots look winnable and if that happens, they sit at 10-6 with the tie breaker on the Bengals.  Our only hope then is that the Raiders massively stumble.

If that's the case, Bengals need to take one against Steelers or Ravens.  That could potentially leave them at 11-5 and easily in the playoffs. Unfortunately, that's not an easy task.

I wouldn't be penciling in Denver wins just yet.  The defense is playing well for sure, but even with an offense that doesn't turn the ball over much, a couple of bad plays anywhere through the game and Denver is sunk.  That's the real problem with ground and pound:  if it goes well, you win a close game (as Denver has done better than I would have thought possible).  If things go badly, they can get out of hand fast.

I agree. I'm just scared is all. They're our biggest threat I think because they own the tie-breaker.

I think the Texans are the team to take a chance on Crapnabb.

Yes, and I think that is an excellent reason to get mcnabb.

I am actually more worried about Denver than any other game remaining on the Pats' schedule.  The way to beat the Pats is to get in Brady's face with your front four, and the Broncos can do that, and yeah I have no idea what this defense will do when it encounters the Tebow Option.

FFS. Last thing I needed to hear is that Pats fans are concerned about the Denver Tebows. What I was hoping for was posts along the lines of "Let's see how well that comeback magic works when you're down 21 points in the third quarter." Honestly, could use some evil Pats about now.

The Broncos are the toughest game left on the Pats schedule? Well the Pats are the only team left on the Broncos schedule I have as assured of beating them (Thanks a million Cutler!) And if the Broncos win 8 in a row on their way to the postseason, not only will Tebowmania in this city be unbearable, but it'll become indefinite. Like the War on Terror. Just with way fewer successful aerial strikes and about the same number of references to God being great.

Honestly, I'd find improbable win after improbable win thoroughly enjoyable...if I lived in a different city or was witnessing it from afar. It's a great story. I'd probably really enjoy it as one of the five big national storylines ina given week but when you can't escape it on local sports radio, on local non-sports radio, in conversation anywhere with anyone that's when you start firebombing.

Jaime, I'm enough of an old fart to remember, before the glorious 2000s, that the default attitude of the Boston sports fan whose team was doing well was "waiting for the other shoe to drop."

In reality it's not very likely that the Broncos will beat the Pats (knocking on wood hard enough to get splinters), and the Dolphins game is probably actually their toughest game remaining.  But to my superstitious, fatalistic, God's-whims-fearing heart, I can just see too many plausible scenarios where the Pats fuck it up.  Like Sergio Brown having the assignment to contain Tebow from 20 yards out while Devin McCourty is staring at Eric Decker's back.

Sorry, I can't do the Evil Pats fan thing for very long or very convincingly, it's just not in my nature.  Same reason I had a damn hard time playing Dark Side characters in the KOTORs.  On the plus side, this difficulty is one reason my girlfriend likes me. ;)

The Eagles have played some of the most chickenshit defense I've seen in a long time already tonight.

All this talent and zero desire.

That's fair considering who the Pats will be playing.

This game is ridiculous. Some of these Lynch runs should never happen. Fun to watch though.

Incredible.  You could easily write for Grantland with stuff like this.

On that long TD run for Marshawn Lynch, a wide receiver named Benjamin Obomanu managed to block TWO Eagles' DBs to clear the way once Lynch was past the line of scrimmage.  How do you let one receiver take out two of you?

By the by, I'm glad I finally benched Mendenhall for Lynch this week.

I felt so bad as I read that, because I've grown up watching Peyton Manning be the Indianapolis Colts franchise. The first football game I ever saw was the game in week 16 against the San Diego Chargers in 2005. I was sitting 6 rows up dead center in the endzone where Brandan Stokely caught the Marino-record breaking touchdown pass.

However, I feel like it's time for the organization to move on. They're a mess, and if Luck is available they need to take him as part of the top-to-bottom reconstruction of that franchise. It hurts to even think it, but that's the only functional option that I see.

And now the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles are the latest addition to the ever-growing Zombie craze.  They sure play like they're dead.
