so i am buying tickets to mdf 2012. they are sold out for the thursday shows, so i will be going friday, saturday and sunday. and the weekend i will have a special guest of the wife. apparently she is over her experience of seeing deicide with me and is ready for more metal. bless her lovely heart.

i know in the metal thread we have discussed getting together. let me know your plans, folks! i know the x's will be in attendance, insomnium has expressed interest, inigima has stated he wants to hang out but not go to the shows. if anyone else will be there or is thinking about it let me know!

i look forward to drinking beer, headbanging and hanging out with you all!

Well, I get the general explanation, but it's a fucking Thursday! Not even a weekend day. Sort of unexpected.

Everyone else must have wanted to see Agalloch as well.

Thursday is entirely indoors, as opposed to the rest of the weekend which has the indoor stage and two outdoor stages plus the whole area between the outside stages. As a result, Thursday has a lower capacity and fewer tickets.

I was just about to post what my wonderful spouse did -- Thursday is held entirely indoors, so there's a limit to the number of tickets for that particular day. If you want to try to score a Thursday ticket, monitor the MDF forums. As the date gets closer, some people will realize that they can't go for whatever reason and will be looking to unload their tickets.

Mr. X and I will be there all four days. Would love to meet up with you nutjobs at some point.

I need to look at the lineups again, but we should be able to find a good time to go out for some beers on Saturday or Sunday (policy is unlimited ins and outs of the fest -- and if you're into merch, you'll want to drop that stuff off at your hotel occasionally).

Also, on Friday, if there are bands you want to see that go on early, show up really early (a long-ass line forms). But if you can wait and roll over at 8pm, there is almost no line to get your wristband.

my plan is to go into baltimore friday morning on the train, check into our hotel which is super close to the venue, take a little nap, have a little pregame and then go and get my wristband.

my wife will join me at the hotel later as she has to come from work.

friday i totally want to see napalm death. all other bands on that day i am up to the air on. saturday i really must see anvil, both morbid bands (saint and angel), archgoat, as a band with a vocalist called lord angelslayer and a guitarist called ritual butcherer is not to be missed. sunday is all about suffocation and morrgoth for me.

work has just been robbing me of my meager soul. i listen to as much metal as i can each day but i truly must have some whisky and beer, ramble around in the pit and see some live metal to bring me a little bit of sanity. i truly cannot wait for this!

mrs. chef? not so much. she is coming as part of some sort of social experiment i think!

Social experiment the first year, sure. Next year, she'll be dragging your ass to the front of the crowd for the grindcore bands and launching giant blow-up genitals into the crowd with the MDF party brigade.

Once we get closer to that weekend , I will have a better grasp on what our plans are.Not sure if we are having my little buddy's birthday celebration during that weekend or the one before.  I'd love to be able to come downtown to hang. Maybe for lunch or dinner, or just to walk the around the Harbor. Whatever.

OK I am going to try to go to at least one day of this.  

I get back into the States April 15th, but I know that I'm going to be sent to do some field work in the America's over the summer... I just don't know when that will be.  I thought MDF was going to conflict with a wedding, but neither the wedding nor my lil' sister's college graduation falls on the same weekend, so as long as work does not interfere with me... I will be there.

I have been in contact with a couple of my buddies and if I am able to make it, there will likely be three of us driving up from DC ready to have a few beverages and fuckin' rock and roll.  

I think I am most interested in Ghoul and Electric Wizard.  My friends want to see Coke Bust and Electric Wizard.. so Sunday may be the day.  If I'm not busy I may come up Friday to see Ghoul.  Again, all kind of dependent on my work schedule

Well, I don't think anyone will go to jail.  But you never know!  I'm really quite well-behaved normally and I do not anticipate a repeat of the 3 inches of blood incident where Mr. Chef and myself both probably deserved a night in jail.  I'll try to keep things a notch or two below that level.
