The Tyrells are not going to fight against Cercei after Kevan reminded Mace Tyrell that if Cercei loses, Tommen loses his Throne and Margaery loses her Queenship.  The Tyrells totally control Tommen at this point - they aren't going to give that up in the 5 days until Cercei's trial.  That isn't enough time for even the Tyrells to nail down a better option.  So Loras and Garlan are out.

Just a thought. What was the time frame between Sandor's redemption and Gregor's death? Because if somehow Sandor felt his brother die, therefore releasing him from his "old self" or what not then he was free to take up something else, then that would be pretty cool. Throwing it out there. If time frames don't match then never mind.

I'm going to go with Sandor because as you know"the hound is dead, but Sandor is at rest." It's classic grrm. Why not have a character ,whose brother held his head in a fire just for playing with his toy knight, kill him in the end as some sort of twisted revenge plot.

I could see Sandor fighting him and dying in an ironic fashion, Loras defending his sister, or Obara Sand trying to finish her fathers work if rumors reach her of Strong=Gregor. Either one would be interesting, though I believe whoever it ends up being is destined to die as i dont see Martin killing Mr. Strong in his first appearance.

Whoever he fights, I foresee his helmet becoming dislodged during the fight and a grotesque 3 headed dog being revealed underneath.

Say wat if unsyrio shows up....It would be epic duel

There is no "Unsyrio."  Syrio was Jaqen Hagar.  The book never states that he died.  Jaqen was found in the black cells by Yoren, which is where Syrio would have been placed.  Arya even stated that Jaqen reminded her of Syrio when she met him because they both talk in the third person and only refer to her as boy or girl.  Jaqen also knew who Arya was from the moment the met her.  So Jaqen would not fight Robert and could not anyways because he is in Oldtown at the maester academy.

I think Robert Strong is going to face Lancel in the Trial by Combat, and as stated by Revan Baratheon earlier, it would be poetic justice for Lancel killing a large man previously known for fighting prowess earlier named Robert (Baratheon).  Afterwards, I think Robert Strong will eventually do something and Sandor will come to fight Robert/Gregor, and then probably either die or retreat into a quiet life afterwards, as it was stated that all the Hound ever wished for was for Gregor's death at his own hands, and that it was all he lived for, and so I think that either Sandor will die or the Hound will truly be dead, and so he can finally live in peace.

I hope it is Sandor.  If he wins, he could fulfill the Valonqar prophecy as the "little brother" since his victory will ensure Cersei's doom.  But if this is the case, and were assuming that entire Maggy the Frog prophecy will come true, Myrcella and Tommen will most likely die semi-early in Winds of Winter which would be a shame.

I think it will be Sandor - Cersei rearmed the faith, and Sandor could now be part of the faith.

Almost certainly Theodan, Lancel as an outsider.

Since it's a trial by the Faith, it has to be someone part of, or incredibly devout to the Seven.

I know people are guessing Lancel, but would the Faith really pin all their hopes on a terrible warrior?
