This post was kinda predictable coming from me, huh? :D Anyway, I know it's soon for her to appear, she won't show up probably until season 4 if they split ASOS in 2 seasons but I love her character and I think she is important for the story of one of the main characters (not giving away too much info) so I'd love to hear your suggestions for the beautiful wildling princess.

My choice is pretty clear since the very first time I read Val's description. Tabrett Bethell (who played badass Cara Mason on Legend of the seeker) is my Val. She is beautiful, hot and fierce. I cannot picture Val with another face

Sure! She is very pretty, which Val is supposed to be! She also has this no nonsense look about her which is right because I definitely get that vibe from Val. Val is clearly a very independent woman and we need an actress who can emulate that as well.

I'd never heard of her before but this is exactly how she looks in my mind. Freaky.

I know right! I have seen her on Legend of the seeker and when I started reading about Val I couldn't imagine another playing her ^_^

Pretty much 95% of how I imagined her looking. I'd only make her a couple of years younger, but that's nitpicking when three quarters of the characters in the book have already been aged in the TV series.

I co-sign this. This is exactly who I pictured as Val while I was reading. Bridget Regan was Lyanna, heh.

Haha yeah, Bridget would be an awesome Lyanna, I always imagine her or Katie McGrath for the role.

Yeah, Val's age is something that bothers me, do we know for sure how old is she? I imagine her being a few years older than Jon, maybe 25-26?

I imagine her a few years older than Jon too, but in the books that would make her in her early 20s.

For some reason I've started to imagine Val as Isolde from Merlin S4 (Miranda Raison). Although after seeing Tabrett I think I've changed my mind.

The great thing about McGrath is that there is something inherintly "wild" about her look that makes it easier to imagine her being a Wildling princess.

She looks perfect for Val. Even the artist's rendering on the Wiki looks just like her. Almost spot on.

I love Legend of the Seeker & Cara's my favorite so I'd definitely enjoy seeing her in the show! She would be glorious as Val <3

Tamsin Egerton (Camelot's Guinevere) is a popular choice by fans, too.

Yeah, I've seen some posts on tumblr but I have a problem with her. I found her terrible on Camelot, like she only has a facial expression or maybe was her character that was really annoying. I like Tabrett better, she's much more beautiful and has that badass looks, in my opinion, of course, that's just a matter of taste ^_^

Tamsin's face is too "modern" for lack of a better word. You want characters who are believable in a fictional medieval fantasy setting.

Idk..Tabrett is pretty but she doesn't have that weirdly conflicting qualities of cleverness-yet-innocence, wild-yet-beautiful, strong-and-athletic-yet-weirdly-REGAL sense that I got from Val the character. I think in that respect, Tamsin pulls it off much better.

And I still hold by my earlier assertion that Saffron Burrows would have made a better Cersei. *sigh*. i'd have revolted if I hadn't fallen in love with Lena Heady's Sarah Connor ages ago...

You don't really think Tabrett has all those qualities? It's OK, to each his own. I think she sums them all pretty well. She played a princess also in LOTS and she looked very regal, even though the outfit was awful :D  I'm gonna be really disappointed if Tabrett isn't cast as Val. I suppose that the fact that she is not english is her biggest "flaw" for the role though :o

Sooo I saw an old episode of Lost last night, and I thought that Emily de Ravin could be a candidate for Val? I'm not really sure if she can pull off the badass part, but I think she has the right look to start with. Let's not forget that everybody thinks she looks like a highborn lady, it's her personality that's badass^^.

She'd be my second choice after Tabrett (Cara FTW!).

Teresa Palmer totally looks like Val to me. She's 26 but could fit perfectly.
