What co-star? Bridget Regan? Nope, she is the perfect Lyanna in my book, can't picture her as anything else. Too bad HBO doesn't do flashbacks, or so it seems.

I don't see how aging Val up a little for the show would be a problem.  So Jon gets it on (or so we hope) with a slightly older woman, what's the big deal?

Nah, I don't think her age is a problem, I mean, Val is supposed to be a few years older than Jon, she was also a few years older than Jarl but Kit is 25 and he also doesn't look 17. Also, Val needs to be not just a beautiful woman, ADWD SPOILERS

but a woman that can make believable that Val was a few days beyond the Wall on her own and came back in one piece.

Wow I've never heard of her but that's almost exactly how I imagine Val. Especially in the first two pictures.

We should believe she's capable of doing those great things she does. Also, she's very funny in ADWD. There's a whole combination of characteristics. Only a pretty face and great blonde hair won't be enough. Val is tough. She's older than Jon, so an actress in her 30's would be alright. I wouldn't mind.

Magda Apanowicz (Caprica) is not that beautiful but certainly a good actress.

Val needs to be very beautiful though, otherwise not every man (Crow & Kings/Queens man alike) would be so enamored by her.

Theresa Palmer is attractive enough but lacks that bit of fierceness and wildness I also associate with Val.

I liked her on The Tudors but I don't find her to be that beautiful as Val is supposed to be, and maybe she looks too sweet too.

I like Strahovski from the time when I still watched Chuck. But she looks a bit too modern to fit into a production like GoT imho.
Some faces just make more sense in a fictional medieval setting than others.

She reminds me of a great english actress called Sophia Myles. I've seen her in Tristan & isolde and she also played a small role in the extincted show The Extras in an episode in which Orlando Bloom was the guest.
Beautiful young woman and tough but still very british. She's 31.

Back to the topic, first of all I love the Val character and I couldn't think of a better actress, than Tabrett Bethell to play her, but that's just me.
Honestly I thought she would also be a great Melisandre, cause Tabrett can also be the villain type and her natural hair isn't blond actually, anway.

She really does come close to how I pictured Val, very beautiful, but also wild. And she's in a right age, the Val character has to be older than Jon, so it would only be 5 years between Tabrett and Kit.

I loved her portray of Mistress Cara, and I really hope, that she will be consider for this role, if it will be a role to be cast.


My second choice would be another Mord Sith - Jessica Marais.

I also love Sophia Myles, she's a very talented actress, loved her in Tristan&Isolde and as Madame De Pompadour in Doctor Who. And I wouldn't mind her to play Val.

She is beautiful but I find her too young, she definitely doesn't look older than Kit, and plus I think she is not tall enough. IIRC it is mentioned that Val is tall, almost as tall as Jon, I believe Kit is around 1.75-76 and Imogen is only 1.64. In other cases the height may not be important but I think in the case of Val, she has to have an impressive presence, it's part of her character.

What do you think about Katie Mcgrath (she plays Morgana in BBC's Merlin)?

I know she is not blond or tall but I was watching an interview with her the other day and she said that ASOIAF are her favourite books and that would be a dream come true if she could guest starring in the show, she even asked her friend (I think it is Natalie Dormer) to read the scripts just to know how they are doing things.

If you don't think she can play Val wich character do you suggest? Because after that interview I really want her to be on the show!

Imogen is becoming a movie star. I doubt she would get involved with a TV Show.

I didn't know Katie Mcgrath but she's brunette and looks amazing like that. Maybe she could fit another character in the show, but Val is not for her. No more wigs, please!
