I agree.  I'm starting to think at the end of Winds of Winter, we'll have Aegon the fake dragon on the Iron Throne and Tyrek in Casterly Rock, both by Varys' design.  This would set up huge battles in the next book when Dany comes to challenge Aegon and Tyrion comes back to challenge Tyrek.

Ther will no longer be seven kingdoms but 3. The North: Riverlands, The Vale, TheIron Isles, and The North. The South:  Westlands, Crownlands, Stormlands and The Reach. Dorne.


The North

Winterfell (Stark): "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell." Rickon Stark, the King In the North, will be married to his niece Robb and Jayne Westerling's daughter.

Brandon and Arya will take over Harrenhall, with Brandon moving out to the Isle of Faces, to forever watch over the North.

Dreadfort (Bolton): Roose and Ramsey will be dead, but "Fat" Walda Frey will be found pregnant with Roose's daughter, who will end up marrying some Wildling kid.

Last Hearth (Umber): Greatjon Umber will be relesed from the Freys and Have another son.

Karhold: Alys Karstark and her Wildling husband will rule under his new house.

Riverrun (Tully): Edmure Tully, restored to his rightful seat and titles.

The Crossing (Frey?): The Frey's responsible for RW will be killed, but I believe there is a coule Frey's that weren't involved, one of them will rule.

The Eyrie (Arryn): Harrold "Harry the Heir" Hardying married to Sansa Stark. Varys has information that Robert Arryn is actually Littlefinger's son.

Pyke (Harlaw): Rodrik "The Reader" Harlaw will be the new leader of the Iron Isles. I'd like Asha but I doubt the Captain's of the Irn Isle's will ellect a woman, and Theon is unknown to all of them. Euron Greyjoy will be killed at some point in his Travels he aliged himself with the others. Victarion will be eaten by Drogon.


The South

King's Landing (Targaryan): Daenaryes Stormborn, theQueen in the South. Young Griff will be discoverd to be a fraud set-up by Varys incase no other Targaryan surrvived Robert's Rebellion.

Casterly Rock (Lannister): Martyn Lannister, Cersie will rule for awhile but with having no legal heir it will go to her cousin.

Highgarden (Tyrell): Willas Tyrell, he is the heir, and I don't see many people in King's Landing surrvive Young Griff and Dany attacking.

Storm's End (Barratheon): Shireen Baratheon along with Edric Storm will rule.

Dragonstone: given over to some of Dany's loyal followers.


Dorne

Sunspear (Martell): Princess Arianne Martell, She will remain unmarried, and Trystane Martell and Myrcella (Lannister) Hill's(?) children will inherit.


Other Peoples

The Night's Watch: Jon Snow will remain Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, dispite finding out R+L=J. Jorah Mormont and Jaime Lannister will both join. Tarly would be the Watch's chief Maester.

The Wildlings: Wildling's weill stay on the Gift and the castles along the Wall, some will  return North of the Wall. They'll form their own Clans and houses.

I know I've forgoten many people, just have to figure it out.

Stark - I would personally like Bran in charge, but that all depends on whether or not he stays with BR and CotF. He's not a tree yet. If not him, then Rickon.  Whichever one it is would also be King in the North
Lannister - Tyrion
Tully - Edmure as figurehead, with Brynden being the one really in charge
Targaryen - Daenerys.  Queen in the South
Baratheon - I would like Stannis, but if he doesn't survive then let's go for a wild card: A legitimized Gendry Baratheon.
Greyjoy - Asha
Tyrell - Willas
Arryn - I'm going to go for a long shot: Sweetrobin takes a dramatic upturn in health, and any assassination attempt on Littlefinger's part fails, just to defy expectations
Martell - Arriane
Frey - Wiped out.  Though EVERY Frey may not be killed, they could be massacred to the point where the house simply collapses.
Bolton - Wiped out.

People forget that Stannis and Gendry have met and Stannis knows who Gendry is. Stannis's current plan is unite the north and head south towards the twins Gendry is just southeast of the twins. Since last time they met Gendry has been knighted and become a follower of the lord of light. If Stannis continues to live him and Gendry are gonna cross paths again it will be pretty hard for him to ignore Gendry the second time around. If Shireen dies by wildings or greyscale Stannis's only heirs are Roberts bastards. Gendry is older than Edric he's also a knight and a follower of the lord of light if Stannis has to pick which bastard to legitamize he's gonna pick Gendry.

Very interesting idea, and one that I like, for I think Gendry has a big role to play in this series yet. However, the prospect of Stannis going south and hitting the twins seems unlikely to me. I don't think Stannis will leave the North alive, for better or worse.

I could see Bran becoming Lord of Winterfell and serving as the Wizardly Warg Warden of the North  for many many years, being one of (if not the) most powerful man in Westeroes due to his tree talking skills. Bran, however, cannot have children, so Rickon and Rickon's children after him, would be Bran's heirs. And Bran can just merge with a weirdwood once he is tired of ruling and thinks Rickon (or Rickon's heir is Ricky dies) is ready to rule.

I think of the big 9 Families (Stark, Arryn, Tully, Lannister, Baratheon, Tyrell, Martel, Greyjoy, Targaryen), at least half of these will either be flung off their perch and lose dominance of their region, or be wiped out completely. And really, it could happen to any of them, since Winter is Coming and Gods know what the Others will do to the continent of Westeros this time around.

Baratheon: Firstly are there no cousins/uncles/aunts to the Baratheon brothers?? They never mention any Baratheon family members so I assume no, making this a really strange one... maybe Gendry will get legitimized?

Frey: The late Walder Frey.  As much as I would like that old ass to die, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes it right through to the end.

Tully: Blackfish or Edmure.  I don't really care tbh.

Bolton: Gone.

Greyjoy: Theon for sure.  "What is dead cannot die, only rise stronger."

Night's Watch: Yep, I agree.  The wall will fall and threat erased, making the Night's Watch pointless

we have lands divided geographically and some houses more prominent than others, this is going to remain in some way but there would be no "king of the realm" most likely a council with a representative "elected" to represent the land in king's landing (the north, the vale, the riverlands, dorne, etc).
I fantasize with Dany taking it all (and everybody following that, and sucking it all, believing they will be rewarded at the end) and erasing all the players to "free the people". (Like the Che of westeros)
that will leave free the characters who aren't playing to get the throne (or lands) to be the ones in great places at the end,

I'll make my guesses another day when I'm less a asleep but...

Why is Rickon the popular choice, is eveyone just being cool? Do you really think a 4 year old will Lord Winterfell by books end? I don't belive Jon is dead (plus Robb legitimised him), I dont belive Ayra will stay with the Faceless Men for long, Sansa won't stay at the Vale and Bran won't spend the last 2 books as a tree...

I like the theories that Sansa, of all people, will rule as an Elizabeth figure (her faith in love crushed, and she's becoming more Cersi-like) with Arya being the one who'll end up marrying. I kinda have this idea that Dany, Jon, Tyrion (your three dragons riders as it were) will end up as protectors of the relm - perhaps as wardens, with some one else sitting on the iron throne. I can't see Jon and Dany marrying. George has hinted the person who'll end up on the Iron Throne won't be who you expect - which got me thinking it could be someone who was thought dead - Aegon or lower key character, one of the Barratheon Bastards maybe?  

Is it possible that there'll be 7 kingdoms again at the end - with the Wall/Others destroyed, and Bran being King of the "True" North (wasn't that what the legendary 'Ban The Builder' was)?

I like this question though, it's not just Houses it's the places you think about too. The Eyrie, The Twins, Harrenhal etc will all probably be redistributed. I agree with whoever said you have to start with the Starks because then kind of ripples out and informs everthing else - but then the hardest thing to do is to decide who sits in Kings Landing...

I think Rickon is the popular choice for reigning Stark due to Bran's injuries.  Perhaps somehow Bran can be healed though?  I mean if Thoros can resurrect the dead, why cant someone like, say, Melisandre heal Bran's spine through magic?  Seems that Bran and Meera will get together if somehow they can get out of the wild north unscathed.

I like the potential rage that Rickon could unleash, though.

I’ve decided that Jon King in the North, and Dany Queen of the South will be too neat for GMartin.

My thought is that fantasy goes in cycles and this will be about putting right what should have happened the first time round before madness took over.

So the noble, just and brilliant Targaryen will get his crown with the rich Lannister still as his hand (remember Tyrion is already advising Aegon), the Baratheon will get his wild Stark girl etc etc. I think Tryrion, Jon, Dany will all be related, will each have a Dragon and be in charge of protecting the Kings justice. It’s possible Sansa will finally be Queen to a noble King, there may well also be a Bran protecting the new true North again. But anywho...

Stark - If Jon doesn't die at the end of the series, which I think is unlikely it will be him, even if he is a Targaryen, I think he will forsake his claim to the Iron Throne to be Lord/King of Winterfell.
Lannister - I'm on board with Tyrion claiming the Rock. This is too good not to be true.
Tyrell - I'm not sure here. Maybe Loras, probably Willas, unless they all die, which doesn't sound too unlikely.
Baratheon - Stannis will be Night's King come again, he will die at the end. Shireen might survive and marry Edric Storm. This seems a nice theory. I'm not sure at all about this.
Arryn - The House dies out I think. It's still a guess what happens in The Vale.
Greyjoy - Victarion probably dies in some battle. Theon dies at the hands of Stannis DEFINITELY. Asha will probably take over if Euron meets his end, which he probably will.
Martell - Arianne will probably end up ruling here. Maybe Trystane and Myrcella if she dies.
Targaryen - Not too sure about Daenerys. She might die or she might not. It won't be Jon & Dany on the Iron Throne. The House could die out and Aegon Blackfyre takes over.
Tully: Edmure will probably live I think. The Blackfish is too old to take over. Stonehearth will die when all Freys die.
Frey: Black Walder will help massacre his family, but dies too at the end. The Crossing will be the new seat of House Tully or it goes to the Blackfish.
Bolton: Dead flayed meat IMO. The Magnar of Thenn will get his seat.
Might's Watch: If Stannis doesn't becone Night's King and the watch remains, he will be the new LC. If he does become Night's King then I don't see who could become LC and the Watch will probably be disbanded.
Iron Throne: Aegon Blackfyre + Sansa Stark.

Here's my guesses as to how the political landscape of Westeros will look at the end of the series. Most of this is wishful thinking, but it's still awesome.

HOUSE LANNISTER:
Tyrek Lannister (with Lady Genna Lannister helping him rule, because she's a riot)

HOUSE STARK:
Rickon Stark & Wylla Manderly (Rickon will be Lord of Winterfell; as Bran will be a tree)
Bran Stark & Meera Reed

HOUSE GREYJOY:
Asha Greyjoy (will be named Victarion's heir and gradually proves to the Ironborn that women can rule them)

HOUSE MARTELL:
Trystane will be the only survivng Martell, and he will be a puppet to Dorne's lords who are angry at the Martell downfall and will likely begin to rebel against the Iron Throne once more.

HOUSE TYRELL:
Willis Tyrell (with the Queen of Thrones as his chief advisor)

HOUSE ARRYN:
Harry Hardyng rules the Vale, but does so without marrying Sansa Stark

HOUSE TULLY:
Edmure Tully

HOUSE BARATHEON:
Ironically, the Baratheons will become as extinct as Robert tried to make the Targaryens. Stannis and his daughter will die. Some of Robert's bastards may survive, but none will be legitimized. Gendry and Arya will possibly marry.

THE NIGHT'S WATCH:
Theon Greyjoy makes it to the Wall and helps with the Other invasion. Afterwards he works his way up to become the 1000th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

THE IRON THRONE:
Dany or Sansa Stark becomes High Queen

THE HAND OF THE KING/QUEEN:
Tyrion Lannister

THE NEW KINGS/QUEENSGUARD:
Jaime Lannister (Lord Commander)
Brienne of Tarth
Ser Lancel Lannister

MASTER OF WHISPERS:
Varys (the cockless wonder makes it out of this whole mess unscathed)
