Just wondering, I have not seen much talk about this movie yet around here. I'm actually sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to start.

I can let you all know if I think it was any good letter tonight or tomorrow. I wanted to see this the second I saw the trailer. I was really pissed when I found out it was a "found footage movie" but it's getting pretty good reviews, I'm stuck in Jackson Wyoming with a night off from filming, and figured; what the hell.

Just got back. I really liked it, can't imagine what it might have been with a decent budget.

Not great but worth seeing, and i would say its even worth it to pay to see it. It does feel a little bit like i have seen this before. The stand-off between the antag and the cops felt like magnito vs cops in x-men number 1.

pretty cool and the acting wasnt half bad.

Well, that was pretty bad ass.

Probably better than 3/4 of the DC/Marvel movies that have been made. Hope they do a follow up.

Huh. My 14 year old son said it was a waste of $11.

Saw it earlier today. Been looking forward to this for a while, and it lived up to my expectations. Really enjoyed it.

It's basically Heroes meets Cloverfield. I liked it because it was different. Dumbass highschoolers get telekinesis and actually act like dumbass highschoolers. And I'm a sucker for any film where the "narrator" becomes increasingly dark.

That said, I didn't feel any real emotional attachment to the characters. I can't put my finger on why. Basically, it left my mentally satisfied, emotionally not. But I'd still recommend it.

Does the found footage aspect of it take away from the movie? That's the one thing that really makes me hesitant to see it. If not, I'll go sometime this week.

It didn't diminish the movie for me at all.

But....I actually tend to like it when movies use that technique. I loved Cloverfield.

For what its worth, I can't remember much 'shaky cam'. Seemed stable for a lot of the movie, especially once they learned how to float the camera alongside them.

I dunno. I'm a pretty gushy fan boy, so maybe that's why I loved it. The physics of the fights were awesome, the concepts were well thought out, and i thought the acting was superb. My 10 year old and I loved it.

I enjoyed it. I did think that they had to stretch things a little bit to make sure that a camera was in the vicinity of the characters to keep up the "found footage" thing. I thought the treatment of "what would happen if you gave teenagers superpowers" was more realistic than I've seen it previously.

I watched it yesterday and I really loved it. My flatmate said that it almost could have worked without the superpowers, and I think I'd sort of agree. Didn't love the ending, but still really enjoyed the film.

My kids and I all liked it - they gave it 7s and 8s. I have a problem with the abrupt personality change of Andrew, but that's really the only major flaw - everything else is pretty minor.

Remembering my time as a teenage boy, I found the 'what happens when you give a teenager super-powers' to be all too realistic.

I liked the found-footage model, although it definitely didn't need it. And while I was sad at the end, I thought it was a pretty good way to finish the story.

No, I love Akira! I was reminded of it toward the end of the film, though the motivations of the antagonists are pretty different.

I really liked it and though it was well done for such a low budget film.

The film had the potential to be a great deal better than it was. The main character was an immature wretch that made it difficult to bear, and the films plot points could've differed in some respect.

Spoiler

Film didn't explain a few things, either. Such as the sentient (?) crystal thing they found buried...no real explanation there, at all. Numerous questions, though.

Oh well, still not a bad bit of entertainment.
