I often thought how different the Eyrie is different from other locations. It appears that dragons like to establish their lairs in high places, often carving caves into the sides of mountains. It would seem that the Eyrie fits the characteristics necessary for a good dragon condo. Elevation ? Check, caves carved onto the side of The mountain? Check. Natural protections.? Check
This location could serve as an ideal place for dragons to hang out. Is it possible that this will be Dany' Point of Entry into Westeros? Will dragons survive the battle for the iron throne?

But the dragons belong to Dany, and unless Dany takes the Eyrie as her seat, it would be unwise to keep them in the Eyrie so far away from King's Landing. She would need to keep them by her side, and who knows what devastation they would cause in the Vale. Plus, the dragons would outgrow the cells in a matter of time.

Depends if Tyrion gets in Dany's ear...he has a vested interest in returning to the Vale with fire...

the dragons will nest where they want..not where dany asks them too. And doesn't mean she will take King's Landing as her throne if she did.

pretty sure the old Targ dragons didn't pick the Dragon pit as their nest, yet there they stayed

I like this idea. Lysa Tully made too much of the Eyrie being impregnable for it not to feature into some kind of storyline later on, and a dragon lair would be ideal. It would also bring Sansa into the dragon plot which I totes think is gonna happen ;)

They were also under the full and unquestionable control of their masters. The only dragon that Dany has under even tenuous control right now is Drogon and that's using the word "control" loosely.

If she were to land there first and was successful a-conquering, would it's name be changed to Queen's Landing?

Is there any way they get to Westeros unless they become under someone (or ones) control? I don't see 3 wild untamed dragons making the trip from Mereen to Westeros...

They might be under someone's control. It won't necessarily be hers.

No. not necessarily, but it does make a good landing spot either way. If Victarion and his horn work where would he take them? Tyrion has to play some roll with the dragons, there has been too much set up for him not to. So if Tyrion is involved I could definatly see him saying "hey lets go take over the Vale and set up a base camp there". It would make more sense then going all the way around to the Iron Isles which isn't too dragon friendly anyway.

I hope the dragons learn to talk like in the old myths.

The concept of an aerie involves an elevated place where winged creatures go (eagles, whatever,) I just think that this location is so large and secluded, and different from other castles in Westeros. It just seems that it has been an under-utilized location. Dani may or may not live here, but it feels to me like a place where dragons would feel comfortable. Their food situation would have to be figured out. If warging is involved, then there could be some restrain as to what they would eat.

What if she's not supposed to have all three? It's a three-headed dragon, maybe they are only supposed to have one each.

If the Eyrie was such a great home for Dragons, why didn't one of the "Big Three" or their riders claim it?

Well, right now, they seem to be stuck elsewhere. I find it very convenient that the Eyrie is now vacant for the season.

Well, I guess the Eyrie could only be conquered from the sky and dragons, by the ground it is impossible, so it may be that Day takes them !

Yes, very good points: The Eeyrie is vacant, it's a happy place for dragons to nest and the Vale is fertile and untouched from war so it could easily sustain 3 dragons and whomever brings them, and having Sansa involved in a dragon plot would be Tee-riffic!

I didn't even think about the Sansa connection. That's a great point.
