Similarly people like the idea of the possible romances, but that doesn't mean they are vicariously living out that romance.
GRRM will decide everything that happens in the books. What is so different from looking at the possible romance angle as opposed to whether or not Stoneheart kills Jaime or if Jaime is Cersei's Valquanor?It's of interest to analyse because it is part of the story.
Also well written sex scenes are not exactly common in ASOIAF: fat pink mast anyone?
