Decided to slowly liquidate my George Martin collection.

I'm not really a book collector and I want to sell them off to others who will appreciate them.

It's taken the better part of 10 years to amass some of these books and there are some books that rival the biggest Martin collectors in the world.

Update 02/29/2012.   Well, that was FAST.  I did well on some, fair on others but overall pretty happy with what I got.  Total amount generated:  24,400

Everything is sold.  For those who came late to the party here is what I let go:

1.  Matching Numbered Set of Meisha/Subterranean Press limited editions.

2.  Matching Lettered Set of Meisha/Subterranean Press limited editions

3.  Fevre Dream Lettered

4.  Game of Thrones U.S. 1st edition Silverfoil SIGNED

5.  Game of Thrones, Clash of Kings, Storm of Swords British UK 1st editions SIGNED

6.  Slipcased Edition Volume 1 Art of a Song of Ice and Fire Numbered Limited Edition SIGNED

7.  Volume 2 of Art of A Song of Ice and Fire SIGNED

8.  Guardians of Order Game of Thrones Limited NUMBERED rulebook SIGNED

9.  Tuf Voyaging Lettered

10.  GRRM A RRetrospective.  Subterranean Press.    Lettered

11.  GRRM A RRetrospective.  Subterranean Press.  Numbered

Some "low value" stuff:  I still have a Legends signed by him and Robert Jordan,  A Legends II signd by him, and of course Regular U.S. hardbacks books 1 to 5 all signed by him.  Books 4 and 5 are first editions.    Probably put 1-5 signed on Ebay when I have a chance and then that'll be it. Liquidated my entire GRRM collection in less than a month.

A little sad as it is the passing of an era but no regrets.  I can do a lot with the money raised that will make me happy in other ways and I'm happy to say every single book wound up in the hands of GRRM fans and collectors who will hopefully treasure them for years to come like I did.  Not one wound up with a secondary book seller as far as I know.

Cheers and thanks for the support and offers.

Thanks.

There has already been quite a bit of interest.  I'm out of town right now so can't finish some of the deals as fast as I like.

Just know that I am a hard-core collector and a hard core George Martin fan for over a decade.  As such, I have a pretty good idea of what these books are worth and how rare they are.

I'm not doing this cause I 'm going bankrupt so I am more than willing to wait years if necessary to get a price I think is fair market value and will reflect their investment potential which I think everyone would agree is pretty big considering how 2011 has treated George.

I'm reasonable and will negotiate but bear in mind some of these books haven't shown up on Ebay for years and are genuinely very, very hard to find.

If you think I'm wrong or my prices are outta line, that's great, show me links and proof and I'll happily reconsider.

Take care guys and good luck.  Already a few inquiries on my numberd and lettered matching sets but most are understandably "sticker-shocked" by the prices.

Here's a hint for the lettered set:  there is NO shipping because I expect you to purchase a plane ticket if need be to pick these books up in person for the price you will be paying to get them.   ;)

Wow, that lettered Fevre Dream looks really nice. What was the original price tag on those?

Hi Snorge, I don't know to be honest.  If it follows SP's usual pricing, I'm guessing 250 for numbered, 350 for lettered?  Or is that just his Ice and Fire stuff?

In any case, Letter "A" of Fevre Dreams was bought for 700 recently.  I'll let mine go for 600 and expenses (shipping and Paypal fees) to anyone on this board.

Payment for Meisha numbered set hopefully will be sent to my Paypal account tomorrow.

Then, I'll have the numbered RRetrospective and the matching Lettered set left.  There's been quite a bit of interest in my matching lettered set and less sticker shock than I expected.  :)

I'll keep things updated.

Subpress usually puts numbered sets in the 75-125 range and lettered sets around 250-300. Price varies of course. One Gaiman lettered set is set at 1500usd, and many lesser authors have numbered books at the 40 bucks area.

I have to admit the lettered edition looks wonderful. My only lettered book has the usual boring tray case which cant be compared to the looks of that Fevre Dream tray case.

As for Fevre Dream *looks in my numbered edition* was sold for 125/300. Numbered comes in a black slipcase, without text or artwork. Good for protection, but doesn't look so good.

Btw, what did the numbered set end up going for?

Thanks for info Wolfbrother.

I really wish Subterranean Press kept an archives of older, sold out books with statistics.

Will tell you what numbered set went for when the money is in my account.  Don't want to jinx things just yet and until cash is transferred, there is no sale . . .  :)

Are you definitely selling your lettered set?  Set that market price high!  I am not being self-interested at all!

Okay everything is sold except:

Art of Song of Ice and Fire Volume 2 signed
GRRM A RRetrospective Numbered Edition
Guardians of Order A Game of Thrones limited numbered edition SIGNED

Silverfoil First edition of Game and Fevre Dream Lettered are of course on Ebay.

Price is huge for lettered.  I will probably post it in another thread.

Matching Numbered went for 5000 cash.
Matching Lettered going for 15,000 cash.

Same buyer for both.

I sold it as part of a package deal so it's hard to say.  I think about 300 to 350 bucks.
