My initial thought was that it could be something obvious like "stop", "mercy", etc etc, but I don't really think this would make the brotherhood listen to her at all. This doesn't seem likely, and looking back at the chapter set in the monastery, it seems more likely to me that she may have shouted "Arya". Bearing in mind that Stoneheart doesn't believe that her daughter is still alive, this may be the thing that saves her life.
This could then lead on to her first appearance in ADWD, where meets with Jaime and encourages him to follow her somewhere. Perhaps off screen, there has been a conversation between Brienne and Stoneheart, where Uncat learns that Arya is still alive, and that Jaime truly does wish to save her to regain his honour. Stoneheart may consent to let them both live in an effort to bring her daughters back to her.
On the other hand, Martin describes it as shouting out a "word" as opposed to a name, which makes me maybe think otherwise. It's possible she has yelled out some form of consent to kill Jaime, hence her appearing in his camp in DWD, and leading him away, perhaps to catch him unawares and kill him, yet this is completely out of odds with Brienne's character, and I couldn't see it happening.
This is one of the key events that I look forward to seeing the conclusion of (hopefully) in WOW. Something tells me that Jaime is going to survive the series, and we'll see either some cheesy love story where the handsome knight ends up with the unattractive maid and they live happily forever after because she changes him for the better, blah blah blah, or she dies to save his life in some cliche infested scene of devotion and love, because that's what Brienne's life seems to be leading towards, finally dying for the person she swears to protect.
Thoughts? I'm not sure if this is floating around anywhere here (it's probable, I was too lazy to search on this occasion), but feel free to throw some theories around.

They gave her the option, noose or sword. She was obviously allowed to go free because she retrieved Jaime. So she must have yelled "sword."

Jaime and brienne both know about the fake Arya conspiracy,im pretty sure that stoneheart sent brienne to get Jaime in order to hear his story about fake Arya.then they might be killed..

Honestly didn't think of that
Also not really sure why they would believe her at that point in time though. I'd agree to pretty much anything when I was in the middle of being hanged, doesn't guarantee I'd follow through with it as soon as I was allowed to run as fast as possible in the other direction

True but Lady Stoneheart wants Jaime more then she wants to kill Brienne. She probably thinks Jaime is behind the RW because Roose said 'Jaime Lannister sends his regards'. So she's going to do alot more then hange Jaime. You never know though

Honestly I think it's the only explanation that really makes sense. She had to have yelled something that resulted in her getting cut down and it had to be something that would have occurred to her immediately while she was getting hanged. I don't think we're dealing with a very advanced thought process here, is what I'm saying.
I don't think she actually intends to kill Jaime or that she wants to kill Jaime. I think she just yelled the word she knew would, at that moment, prolong her life and give her more options.

I'd forgotten that they knew about Jeyne as well. I'm not really sure how that would go down. Maybe Uncat turns up at Winterfell to tell the world that she isn't her daughter. Interesting to see whether it will be these two who bring about a meeting between the two Arya's, or whether it will be Jon Snow, Sansa, or possibly Rickon, who spot the fake.

One group is convinced Brienne yelled "Sword", because she was given a chance to choose "Sword or noose" and she is still walking in DwD. Later she showed up at Jaime's camp and obviously lied to him and lured him out of safety.
The other group basicaly argue that Brienne said "anything but sword", because they think she would never betray Jamie. The most popular suggestion by this group is "Arya", because it is one of the only words that could get any sort of emotional reaction from Stoneheart.
I personally am sure she yelled "Sword". Because of the argument above and a little bit of foeshadowing.

"Sword" is the only option that make sense IMO.

I'm going to actually throw a third one out here, and suggest that they were actually saved by some of Tarly's soldiers, and that she didn't shout either "Sword" or "Arya", but something along the lines of "help" before Tarly's soldiers kill Lem and his friends and cut Brienne down. I kind of like this one actually

At Riverrun Jaime remembers that he has sworn not to shed Tully's blood, but concludes that his oath to the King is more important, because it was before his promise to Catelyn. And this reasoning will come back and bite him when Brienne will use the sme logic when choosing between him and Stoneheart.
On her quest to find Sansa Brienne herself muses that oaths given to the dead are more important than those given to the living.
Jaime's dream on the weirwood stump, which is considered prophetic, can be interpreted in that way.

Yeah, I can agree with that. In the same chapter that this arises in, Brienne keeps asking for a sword in her dreams as well, saying it over and over again, along with "Jaime", so I guess you could link the two together.
