Aegon needs to fight a war to get on the Iron Throne. How exactly is another bloody war just when the Winter is starting and much of the realm is still in ruins, what Westeros needs?

And the guy has zero experience at governing anything. I don't care if he was taught by the biggest geniuses and badasses in the world, he's still a teenager who can easily be a complete failure as a King.

Starks will endure. They always have.

I'm on board with Arya being the one to kill Dany.

Ugh, Dany... such a mess. I don't know much, but  I do know I want her dead! I feel like i'm supposed to feel sympathetic to her but all I ever feel when reading her chapters is rage... Shes just a little kid with some serious mental issues.

Me too, or at least I'm pretty certain she will be send to do it, I actually have a whole theory about it. As much as I hate it, it seems inevitable that Jon and Daenerys will meet (ugh) well, they might become allies or whatever. Then Arya is sent to kill her, with a face that is not hers, of course. Somehow she is caught before she kills Daenerys and is probably gonna be killed. But, she still has needle so Jon recognizes her and saves her, betraying Daenerys for love (for love to Arya, of course :P ) Yeah, I love to think too much :D

I like this theory but it clashes with one that I've heard and agree with, that Septa Lemore is in fact Ashara Dayne and she meets up with Dany and  Barristan recognises her and leaves Dany to be with Ashara, therefore he is, in my head the one that will betray Dany for love.

Gosh, I hope this doesn't happen.

I actually think it would be kind of neat if the series ended with her becoming Viserys/Maegor/Aerys, and Barristan becoming Jaime and finally getting it.

It kind of makes me sad for Jaime that the people call him Kingslayer when they've never seen behind the curtain and I would love nothing more for Ser Barristan the Bold himself to be the one to see behind the curtain himself and become Ser Jaime in that sense.

This theory, as has been said, is completely out of character. If you think this is what's going to happen, then great, but I really doubt it.

I think Dany will end up clashing with Jon (she dreamed of fighting an army armored in ice, Jon dreamed of being armored in ice) and losing rather spectacularly. She doesn't know winter, and winter doesn't know her.

If you're going to use the dreams, then I think we should remember how they ended: Dany won, and Jon didn't.

Hahaha, true true, but the odds of the fire dragon beating the ice dragon during the beginning of the long winter is pretty non-existant. If she does kill Jon, she might as well kill every northmen because the north remembers and they will be glad to 'decorate' another tree.

Poor Dany, everyone leaves her :P Your theory could be too, I cannot imagine the shock on Selmy's face if Ashara turns out to be alive.

Dany will probably be the antagonist. I think how Dany handles Mereen will show us exactly what she will become in westeros.

And you don't think that Dany might have, you know, learned something from Mereen? Admittedly, I've only read A Dance with Dragons once, but I definitely got the impression that Dany was learning from her mistakes.

Oooh, I like that theory. Yes, that's definitely where the story is heading.

After Ser Barristan's betrayal, maybe Jorah Mormont will return to Dany just in time to stop her from making grave mistakes?

Ser Barristan running away with Ashara can mean only one thing : A rather long and elaborate description of Ser Barristan's greying pubic hair clashing with Ashara's deep brown one !!! :stillsick:

Eh ? Why would she actually do that ? I mean, y'know, she is dedicated to House Targaryen at the end of the day. And if she meets Aegon, she would assume he is a real Targaryen and the true heir.

Yes, this is exactly how I see it will happen.

Aegon: Hello, I'm your nephew, the true king of Westeros. Thanks for holding the spot for me, you can move over now.
Dany: You are? Wonderful! I've been praying someone like you shows up! Here, have a dragon! Have two! Have all of them, and you can take the Unsullied too! Would you like to have my ships, and the Dothraki and-

Oh no, sorry, I can't go on, I'm laughing too hard.

Her as a villain (one we've come to know very well) would be more interesting, and possibly tragic.
I actually think that making her into a villain could be a pretty cool turn of events.  Thus far, she's been straddling a line and it seems like she will have to get darker in the next book.

Dragons plant no trees.

I don't think that's what the OP meant.

I believe that Dany will be curious about Aegon, and feel excited at the fact that there's another possible Targaryen. But I think she'll find out that he's not really her nephew before she even meets him.

Did she, now?

Quote

That night she dreamt that she was Rhaegar, riding to the Trident. But she was mounted on a dragon, not a horse. When she saw the Usurper's rebel host across the river they were armored all in ice, but she bathed them in dragonfire and they melted away like dew and turned the Trident into a torrent.

Dany dreams of setting an ice-armored army on fire, and they "melt," but they don't disappear---they turn the Trident "into a torrent". At the end of her dream, Dany's facing a mighty river, and we know greenseers (at least one of whom calls Jon his big brother) have power to bring down something called "the Hammer of the waters" on those that piss them off. Dany's dream didn't end with anything burning, with the dominion of fire, it ended with water being strengthened into "a torrent". I don't see that as a positive omen for Dany, someone whose power is entirely fire-based.

Dany was fighting an ice-armored army, and they melted. She therefore beat them. Her power is fire-based, but guess what? Dragons can fly away from water.

And crash into the Snow

I think I need to explain better. Dany doesnt have to be 'evil' to be the antagonist. She maybe learning more, but if she arrives in westeros way after Aegon has conquered the South(generally speaking) and The Starks calm down the North(relatively speaking), she will be an enemy to everyone, even if the entire time she's saying 'Aegon is a fake.' The world will make her the antagonist. I could be wrong though

What? Why would she crash into snow? If she melts away the Others and the wights, she can simply fly away from the Trident...

Hahahaha, Im just having fun with you. Im saying they can fly away, but its still winter. Personally I want Jon to have his own 'Ice' Dragon that is talked about so much, but Im sure it's just a nickname for him because of his blood. Do you think it will make a difference if Dany know that Jon Snow is a targ?
