Who's the most diabolical?

"Another fellow told me our food was so wretched that he had to flee before it made him sick, so I had his foot cut off, roasted it up, and fed it to him. Then I made him our camp cook. Our meals improved markedly, and when his contract was fulfilled he signed another."

-The Tattered Prince

I think the signs point to Roose Bolton being more consistently cruel. We don't know much about the Tattered Prince, but it doesn't sound he goes around doing this all the time. On the other hand, this is such a petty thing to maim someone over, so I don't know. I guess it depends how characteristic this kind of behavior is.

yeah there's something about him that reminds me of Roose Bolton in AGOT or COK before we really knew what lay behind the mask. When Cat and Rob just noted that he scared them.

For now I think that we simply know to little about the Prince and I'm open for the possibility that he may be as badass as Roose but untill then I will have to consider Roose to be more awesome.

The gentleman who ate his own foot ended up becoming a good cook and signed up for a new contract when the old one expired. Roose would have just hanged him.

Is that a vote for Roose or the Tattered prince?

Mess with Roose,
You'll find your neck in a noose.

I might be voting for Roose because we've seen more of him, but the Tattered Prince is good too.

Well I hope I never have to serve under you, if you think cutting off someone's foot and feeding it to him just because he complained is fair

What complain? It was desertion and the man had signed a contract.

Don't believe the man actually fled (see the quote), just that he was considering it. He'll, we don't even know if the quote was told in jest or something like that

The Prince has a more developed sense of humor, which gives him a bit more purchase in terms of humanity, at least for me.

In fact, I slightly wonder whether Tattered might be joking about the roast foot (though probably not); whereas if Roose had said it (albeit drily), I'd be more confident that it was a factual report..

Roose is funny sometimes, when he present Theon to lady Dustin and says its him give or take a few inessential pieces. that was pretty funny.

I would have to say Roose. It seems as if everyone who meets Roose is wary of him. I don't get that impression from the Tattered Prince. People have obviously crossed the Prince, but I think a person would have to be insane to cross Roose.

Oh I dunno, he had the sense to get out of Pentos when they made him Prince and has survived as a sellsword for 30 years and leads his own company.

Roose isn't that scary. Dead is dead after all. Fear of Roose wasn't enough to stop Wyman Manderly.

Tatter raiment is said to inspire fear in the enemy improves the moral of his own men. Tatters also keeps a pretty fearsome retinue, the Corpsekiller guy with Valyrian steel Arrakh and Pretty Meris the company torturer, the fact that he has a torturer tells you something.
