Just bought a new videogame today, and thought I was going to try it out. But I really, really,  had an urge to watch 'X-2'.

I hadn't seen it in a while, and I have to say. It's a lot better than I'd expected/remembered. Not quite as good as 'First Class', but it might be the 2nd best superhero movie I've seen (I'm not counting films like 'Kick-Ass or 'Watchmen', both of which were great).

The line from Magneto to Pyro: "You are a god amongst insects, don't let anyone tell you different." Gave me a film-boner.

I think I'm gonna IMDB Ian Mckellen and find some more epic roles from him. Because after remembering how awesome he is in 'X-Men', plus his service as Gandalf has me needing more of England's best actor. (Sorry Michael Cain, I love you, but it's like you're fighting a Tyrannasaurous Rex with nothing but a stick.)

Just got back from seeing the Grey.  Loved it!

Spoiler

To whomever complained about the wolf behaviour..... Sharks don't behave like the shark in Jaws and yet that's still an awesome movie.

Check out Richard III. He absolutely killed in that.

I'm in a bit of a Shakespearean mood myself. Might have to go check that out too. Got myself Kenneth Branagh's Henry V the other day but haven't had chance to watch it yet. Cause I've been ploughing my way through Peep Show

Watched the second half of Black Swan as my wife was watching it when I got home.  It was pretty strange then I saw at the end it was directed by Aronafsky and that made sense to me.  Hard to form much of an opinion when you see less than half a movie, but it seems like a movie where watching the first half would not be worthwhile anymore either.

I am an hour and a half in the two hour premier of ABC's The River. I can not finish it. It is all of the strangeness of six seasons of LOST cramed into an hour with absolutely no character development, no plausable explanation, and shot like the Blair Witch Project. I want my hour and a half back ABC...

I've watched the first 13 episodes of Fringe, and I'm currently hooked into watching the entire series.  I'm just hoping that the writers don't pile up so many unresolved questions that I eventually don't care anymore, which was how I felt when I gave up on Lost at the end of Season 3.

Rewatched Get Shorty.  I hadn't seen it in many years and I was surprised at how much I laughed.  Nothing spectacular just a fun movie.  James Gandolfini had a small role and it was a bit of a disconnect to see him pre-Tony Soprano.

Howdyphilip lasted longer on The River than me.  Five minutes of that shaky camera and I pulled the plug.  Too nauseating.

Does anyone have anything good to say about the Tudors?

I watched the first two episodes but I don't like any of the characters yet, each episode I found myself watching the clock and waiting for it to be over, and watching a bunch of assholes run around just put me in a general foul temper.

I'm so sorry world, I didn't watch Terriers when it was first being aired, and I didn't realize how brilliant it was until after it was cancelled.

It had to be said.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec. Great fun, the perfect antidote to the drearyness of the last Pirates of the Carribean movie and the unevenness of Tintin (it can't match the spectacle, but it beats it hollow for charm).

I watched Drive last night with Ryan Gosling.  What a weird movie.  Long, slow-motion shots of people doing nothing but stare into space or at each other, and then an explosion of violence.

My sister bought all of the 'Tudors' seasons, and I've made it to like episode 4 or 5. And while I like it, I just can't seem to get around to finishing even the first season...

I just got this old Disney VHS made for video movie called Love Leads The Way based on the true story of Morris Frank who was blinded by a boxing accident and became the first blind person from the U.S. to train with a seeing eye dog and then he became an advocate for the rights of service dogs to be exempted from "no dogs allowed" policies.

I was just watching the tape to see if it played well enough to sell but then I got interested in the movie and as a dog lover it began to pull at my sentimental heart strings. Morris being a cold fish type of guy at the begining but then the inevitable bonding between man and dog, and the also inevitableness of a dog's life span and health issues of an aging German Shepard, top that off with the constant instrumental playing in the backgrounf of Gershwin -

There's a somebody I'm longing to see,
I hope that she,
turns out to be,
someone to watch over me...

I was bawling baby at the end of the movie.
