Or something small. We did not have a POV character falling of the horse or catchig a mortal blood infection after cutting a finger.
Or icicles. We were warned that winter is coming all along. THAT could be an unconventional writing. And what a way for Arya to go
But if that happens, I personally will cut these lines out of the books and replace them with my own before lending it to anyone.

I can't see him surviving this mess that is Martinworld. The only consolation is that he'll go out in a blaze of glory and save Westeros from the Others or Dany, or preferably both...well at least I hope Martin will give me that much...

As for a major character, I think Dany might die and I will be heart-broken because depsite her many flaws she is still one of my favorite characters.
I refuse to believe any more children(Bran, Rickon, Arya) or any inherently good people(Brienne, Davos) will die, but knowing GRRM, we will have to wait and see.

Moreover: Tommen and Myrcella have doom written on their foreheads and it pains me, as they're so innocent. Stannis, Brienne, Theon and, as mentioned, Jaime, are all characters that I'll be sad to see off, though they're not entirely innocent (alright, Brienne hasn't done anything wrong yet, but she's old enough to make choices and defend herself).

This. It wouldn't surprise me but I would be gutted.
(and my fingers are crossed for Pod too!)

His gout is just getting to be too consuming. I don't think he'll last

Brienne and Jaime. They deserved to be happy together, but what are the chances of that happening?
