Yes, for both yourself and your squadmates. Each with their own bonuses and stats. I don't think there will be nearly as many there were in ME1. If the demo is any indication, Shepard can still use individual pieces instead of whole sets like in ME2 (you pick up a pair of gloves in the second demo mission).

edit: Since that totally isn't explained in the singleplayer aspect either, which makes playing anything but a soldier in the singleplayer pointless.

So in doing one last play through of ME 1 & 2 before ME 3's release I encountered a bit of a hitch. After coming back from Jack's loyalty mission i was unable to settle the standoff between Jack and Miranda without losing one or the others loyalty.
Speaking of loyalty... I'm working on a new career, and I've decided that the only squadmate I care about making sure survives is Garrus. I think it would be perfect if it's just Garrus, Joker, and myself at the end of the day. I'll even send an unloyal team mate with the captured crew, that way it can be a Sheppy-Jokey-Garry Normandy.

You need to have at least two squad mates survive otherwise Shep dies (because you won't have a full squad) for game related purposes. I found that out in one save when I saved Zaheeds loyalty mission for after the Relay, but couldn't leave him to die in the fire because I only had one other surviving crew mate.
Also sending a non loyal squad mate still saves the crew, just not the squad mate. So it would be shep-joker-garrus-randomsquad mate- and surviving crew.
Just kill people off by assigning bad roles, use the priority list from the flow chart I linked earlier to insure the right deaths and don't leave any heavy defenders to hold the line so (Ex: Grunt can survive, by himself, unloyal).

They did that the weapon thing to avoid having a command wheel that would take up your screen. They couldn't exactly pause the game for you to pick a new weapon, and could see having that wheel be A) annoying in live actions getting you shot to death because you couldn't see something, or B ) Being annoying cause they made it too small to avoid A.

I started out as a infiltrator, but Asari Adept is where it's at. Stasis bubbles plus Vanguard charge = me getting credit for all the biotic explosions. :-)
This multiplayer is definitely addicting, I just wish the other races and weapon upgrades weren't random unlocks. It makes building up your class of choice a bit harder unless you're particularly lucky.

I spent time as an Infiltrator and an Adept. Adept's been fun, same with Infiltrator but both are definitely much slower in playstyle than Van. I <3 Vanguard.

Same here. I lucked out and got an Asari Adept in my starter pack, and that's the one I've enjoyed the most so far. Stasis got a major buff for ME3 and makes the really annoying enemies like Nemesis, Combat Engineers, and Phantoms a piece of cake. I've been using the basic assault rifle with a recoil mod as my only weapon and it has provided a good balance between damage and weight. However, I did just get the Locust SMG so I'm considering swapping to that . . .
It's amazing how much fun I'm having despite only having 1 type of forces to face on all of 2 maps. I can only imagine what other groups will be available in the full release (possibly bringing back the merc groups from ME2, and almost certainly a Reaper force of husks, the new Cannibals, and whatnot).
I do wish there was a way to see all of the potential cards you can get, and whether they are common or uncommon.
Edit: Anyone know how extensive the new character is that comes with the Collector's Edition? That's the only thing that's the tipping point for me preordering which edition.

Good luck, I don't know if you can find a Collector's Edition at this point. GameStop has been out for months. And if you're forced to go with BestBuy (like me), make sure you're one of the first in line. I've heard some horror stories about people who ordered the 'Skyrim' Collector's Edition and BestBuy didn't have enough to match the orders.

I bring my pistol with me as an adept and spend my time headshotting or comboing with other players. Stasis makes that headshot nice and easy.

No idea. However there is a day-1 DLC that almost everything agrees is going to be a character and most people assume is going to be the CE character (Its also not confirmed that the CE character is the spoiler character, it might be some 3rd character). That day-1 DLC is $10, the CE is $20, so if the only thing you're interested in is the character I say just get the DLC. I also say this whole thing is bullshit because either the character is minor and being included makes no sense or the character is major and this is a huge ripoff by EA- Although maybe all new copies of the game will come with a redemption code. CE's also sold out just about everywhere though, so best hope that either the CE character is not the spoiler character or that he is also the DLC character.
By the by, although the spoiler character is not in the demo, a couple sound files of his were, so if you want to hear what he sounds like, click here. That link does tell you who the character is though, so don't click if you don't know/want to know. I love that he has that accent; don't know what people are upset about.

Well, if you're okay with spoilers, there are two squad mates who have not been officially released
To anyone wanting to avoid squad mate spoilers: Do not look at the art book or anything that links pages from it.
