I always thought there was far more chemistry between Daryl and Andrea to be honest but they seemed to drop that for the Shane relationship. Maybe they'll revisit it next season. The loss of Dale should maybe snap Andrea out of it.
That link by division by zero was funny and may hold a lot of truth. It does seem like AMC are treating their most successful show in the worst way in terms asking for more episodes on a tighter budget. They seem to treat their other shows with far more respect and it sometimes feels a bit like, deep down, they are embarassed about doing a genre show but happy to milk it until viewers come to their senses.
That said I don't know how much the actors are getting or whether they got a raise, The fact next season's new addition is british suggests they are going for quality that's cheaper than the equivalent US actor. Then again the Brits tend to be better value for the most part.

Exactly but usually it's fair to say that quality comes with cost too (especially in shows where make-up SFX are important). To double the episode order and cut back on per episode budget means there's a strong possibility the show will be half as good. It doesn't fully excuse sloppy writing but maybe as mentioned previously they'd usually correct those bad scenes but can't becasue of time/cost constraints.

You really don't see the sexual tension between those two? lol I think they'd be good to each other - though not exactly nice...

I thought that might have something to do with the sets and the amount of zombies introduced - I mean, in season one we had the suburbs, the city, the CDC. This season we only had the farm and small parts of small towns.

I've noticed Carol seeming interested in Daryl, but I hope it doesn't happen. Carol looks like a 50 year old cancer patient, and has enough baggage without trying to work through Daryl's stand-offish behavior. And Daryl is a good fighter, but he belongs on Maury or something with his racist drug addict brother and his abusive father. Not to mention making a zombie ear necklace. Seeing those two kiss would just be weird.

On Daryl and Andrea, I had initially thought that too, but then they seemed to change things up a little, but I'm okay with the D n' C option.

There are definitely a lot of differences but overall I think the show has done a pretty decent job. It kind of seems like some of the characters' personalities in the comics were melded together for the show.
Now I just wish I had the money to buy the rest of the books....darn it.
