16th of June
I sure hope that you guys like screenshots :3
here I have some shots of Lightbringer and the War for Dawn, as well as some sexy close ups of Longclaw ;)

I'll be following these up later tonight with some shots of Ice and I've made a lovely dress, I must've been practising my needlework...
here's the updated album, with Ice and Needle:

11th of March: Hey guys, sorry for not updating sooner but I've been kinda busy with exams and such. Soo, progress report. We've launched the first version of the mod today, complete with all of your favourite races from Martin's Universe (and the Lannister's ;) ) So here are some pics of the races:

The Baratheons

The Lannisters

The Martell's

There are several other races, but these are the ones with the most distinctive features :)
Thanks guys, enjoy the mod.

16 Feb: Hi, me and a few friends decided that it'd be a great idea to create the world of Westeros within Skyrim using the Creation Kit. However as the planning stages have continued, we've realised the massive amount of work that is necessary. We have plenty of Papyrus scripters to do the technical things, but we're severely lacking in the 3D design and creative department. If anybody wants to get in touch with me regarding helping out with this project, my

or
e-mail: [email protected]

This project is strictly not for profit so you won't be paid however it will be very useful for portfolio building. We need quest designers, 3D modellers and landscapers. So if you want to get in touch, don't be shy :)

The general theme of the game is that you're a character born as a bastard into one of the families (you choose which at the start) and have to make your own way in the world.

If this is the sort of thing that needs permission from George (although I'm fairly sure it comes under fair use) then I'm sorry for wasting a moderator's time.

Thanks for reading,
~Nye

Honestly, It sounds really cool. However, Since it is not for profit, I would assume that it would be a downloadable Mod in which People who have a console version of Skyrim will not be able to download or play it, unless the get it for the PC, which is out of the question for me, since I've seen the System requirements, and it is just out of the question.....

If I am wrong, please correct me. But I do think that it would be really cool...

Well, good look with this. You ought to go look in modding and Skyrim forums, see if there's anyone else somewhere trying the same thing. Build up a bigger team.

Like Firewall, my PC is too dire (no pun intended) to play such games. Would enjoy seeing how it turns out though! :D

If you guys have the console version of the game but would still like to get involved then there's no reason why you couldn't be quest designers. Add me on skype or e-mail me.

I might be interested in scripting a quest...this is something I've always wanted to try but have never done before. I have written numerous comic book scripts (and short prose stories) . You okay with taking on "quest design newbies"? (just to confirm, "quest design" is just writing, does not involve any programming, right?)

Yeh absolutely, I'll do all of the programming/ quest specifics. If you'd like to write a quest then I'd be very grateful, send me an e-mail with it attached or add me on Skype.

I used to be a Stark of Winterfell, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

I will work something up and get in touch. Sounds like a super fun project.

Don't you mean "spear to the thigh"? ;)

This sounds cool, though I do not understand anything about making mods haha.

Interesting. Do you have an idea for what you want to do? My understanding is that the world size is fairly limited (i.e. to the size of the world in Oblivion or Skyrim) so presumably you're not trying to replicate the entirety of Westeros in the mod? So are you thinking about an area of the North or the Riverlands or the Vale etc, what noble families are you thinking of including and so on? I think putting in some realistic goals at an early stage is important (for example, the Total War mod has benefitted from focusing on Westeros alone and not being tempted to add the Free Cities, Slaver's Bay, the Dothraki etc despite numerous calls from some people to do so).

Great idea, and hopefully it leads to something interesting! :)

We have put in some realistic goals for the future, and I certainly agree with what you're getting at, that the creative process needs a heavy dose of realism and admin. Should the mod all go to plan we will be creating the world of Westeros in its entirety. But we'll use hidden constraints to limit the world size (eg. Only 3 ways to get past the wall, all require a load screen, have to cross the Dornish marches etc) and we've assembled something of a team.

We have 2 3D designers
2 Quest Designers
1 Papyrus Coder
1 Concept artist

Sounds pretty cool. What era of ASOIAF history are you planning for the setting?

The era of peace between the Greyjoy rebellion and Robert's Death, but we'll be putting in all sorts of easter eggs...

I am absolutely no use to you whatsoever on the technical front, but dang this would almost be worth getting Skyrim for PC if you pull this off, even though I really don't like the Elder Scrolls game mechanics.

I do have a friend (I don't think she's a fan of video games or GoT) who was a 3D animator on the LOTR movies. Would she be potentially useful? Not that i can commit to convincing her to get involved as she's trying to transition into being a novelist.

I'm sure that she'd be very, very useful. Whether as an animator or just a 3D designer it would be fantastic. I'm also glad to hear that you support the project, it was the Game of Thrones: Genesis that spurred me into making this mod because I realised that it (in my opinion) wasn't going to do the series justice. The mod will also be released on the Skyrim Nexus so you won't have to have the game activated on Steam in order to play it. So if you can, get this designer to contact me, otherwise, stay in touch :)

Skyrim is the perfect environment for ASOIAF. I would love to be a creative part of the mod for PC.

I don't have much experience with 3D design, but I would love to help architect the story line, characters, and quests.

This is a very ambition project, and could take years to get the 7 kingdoms built. I suggest you focus on one specific area and grow from there. I think a "Join the Night's watch" campaign would be very fun experience that many people would play, and a much faster delivery date. Hit me up with a private message on who I need to contact.

I agree with thor1215, Skyrim is a great environment for an adaptation of ASoIaF, and I think that focusing on one faction or area will be best- for the Night's Watch, for instance, I can think of several quests culminating in the expedition beyond the wall in ACoK and the return in ASoS-final quest is a battle against Mance's horde to protect the wall.

This was my thinking as well. You become a Night's Watch member right before Jon Snow joins the group. You go on ranges with BenJen and the Halfhand. You fight wildlings and giants on many "rangings (quests). Eventually you join the expedition beyond the wall and take part in the Battle at the Fist of the First Men, Crasters Keep, against Rattleshirt's raid, and against Mance's final assault.

Interesting, given that I'm doing almost the exact same thing:

Perhaps we might talk a bit.

Looks like you are setting up an event in the timeline of the original Dance of the Dragons?
