Also, I personally don't think he did survive (although it is possible). However, if he did, the only time I think that he could be reintroduced realistically is that he is who Arya goes on to train with. That would be pretty damn cheesy, but the only decent way I can see to do it. So hopefully we would find out really quick in the new book (so like in 8 years).

Syrio was/is one of my favorite charecters... I have no idea if he is a FM or not, but if he is, Meryn Trant is as good a theory as any. Better than Ja'quen imho

The man we knew as Syrio Forel is a man who Bloodraven warged for his own needs and assumed the identity Syrio Forel.
The real Syrio Forel is a faceless man who poisoned Joffrey on his wedding, while hidden as a servant.
Then he became the kindly man.
His twin brother is Daario Naharis. Danny will fall in love with Syrio Forel in a later book and he will give her an heir.

An interesting little thing I just discovered, in AGOT someone (I belive it was Selmy) thinking back about Rheagars daughter and he wondered what became of her little black cat.
Then I remembered Arya chasing a grizzled old black cat, and one of the guards telling her that the black cat had been at the Red Keep for ages. It gave me a little smile...

Syrio is deader than Robb and Gray Wind . . Now if you want a crackpot theory . . I believe Varys is really not a Eunuch that he really is Prince Rhagaer who faked his death on the Trident. Varys was an mummer aka an Actor so Varys took Rhagaer's place which explains why he was defeated by Robert so easily on the Trident, Varys took his son Aegon and hid him with his trusted buddy Jon Connington . Rhagaer learned "mummery" from Varys in secret . .
Varys = Rhagear waiting to reclaim the Iron Throne as "Hand of the King" while his son rules as "King of all Westeros."

From the Citadel:
6.1.3. Is Syrio dead?
Syrio’s fate is completely unknown. However, speculation has run between his having been killed, his having been imprisoned, and his having been merely a disguise of a Faceless Man who was thrown into the black cells, changed into Jaqen H’ghar, and is now at large in Westeros. A Feast for Crows appears to put an end to this latter theory, as Jaqen H’ghar was apparently already in the black cells before Syrio’s confrontation with Meryn Trant.
In 2005, GRRM pointed out that Syrio seems to have been left in a hopeless situation when he was last seen, and suggested readers should "draw your own conclusions" based on this (SSM), which seems to imply that Syrio Forel was in fact killed. More recent reports (but, it should be said, unconfirmed) indicate GRRM does not understand why he gets asked the question repeatedly, pointing out that Syrio is not immortal; if accurate, this seems to more heavily imply that Syrio Forel is dead.
