May include Spoilers

10. Robert Arryn aka Sweetrobin - I'm sure that I'm not the only one hoping that he will OD on dreamwine.
9. Brienne of Tarth - So she could hold her own against the Kingslayer, she was still too "Eddard" for her own good. I was ecstatic to read about her getting a hemp necklace.
8. Gilly - Its bad enough to have to read about Sams complaining, but to give him an accomplice with a child that is not even hers to complain about is vexing.
7. Kevan Lannister - GET OUT OF YOUR BROTHERS SHADOW AND DO SOMETHING, oh wait. you cant....
6. Freys - They are all the same, right?
5. Ser Lancel Lannister - "More wine your grace?"
4. Tommen Baratheon - Between the kittens, and being Cerseis offspring, he does not have much going for him. The gods only know how much Loras taught him with the "Lance"
3. Margery Tyrell - Maybe Im the only one who thinks she should have been walking beside Cersei in, on her walk to NEVER FORGET.
2. Jorah Mormont - Let me betray you, lie to you, defend you, council you, tell you whos company to keep, kiss you, leave you and bring you a dwarf to make amends.
1, Davos Seaworth - From the moment I started Clash, I knew that Davos would be on this list. It was not until I read of his parting and thinking, thank god, hes dead to, WHAT, hes still alive.

Wow, interesting.  I don't think any of them are on my list, lol.

I love to hate on Cersei, Roose, Ramsay, Lorch, Gregor, Vargo, the bad Freys, and Catelyn (at times).  I actually am starting to genuinely dislike Dany's character.  I've been annoyed with her ever since she killed Drago, and her character is just pointless at the moment.  Her stupid husband, Hizdahr, is also annoying.  Pycelle also annoys the hell out of me, WTF is wrong with that guy!  Glad he's done with.

So are these supposed to be the characters you just find repulsive and love to hate, or characters you actually hate and wish weren't in the book at all?

The only character I do not particularly enjoy is Bran. He is much too young and I have never liked being inside his head. I wish all the child characters had been a good three of fours years older than they were when the story began. Alas . . .

For crying out loud! People can say they hate Cersei if they fucking hate her :tantrum:

Now for mine, in no particular order:
  • Ramsay Snow (okay, he's probably the worst)
  • Qyburn :ack:
  • Every single Frey
  • Pycelle
  • Gregor
  • Vargo Hoat
  • Joffrey aka King Festering Boil

  • Hizdahr whats-his-face

  • Robert Arryn

  • Patchface
No idea why my post is so messed up... can't fix it.

Hmmmm... "Hate" is a little strong for most of these characters. With a lot, it's irritation or boredom. But the characters I most dislike as people/ to read.

1) QYBURN! I am actually tempted to make him most of my list, actually..

In no particular order (aside from 2 and 3, they're probably at the top).

2) Joffrey. Come on, I mean the kid was fun to read in an almost pantomime-esque villain way, but my gods he was a little shit.

3)Ramsay Bolton- again, a magnificent villain in the sense of pure vileness, but one who's incredibly hard to actually root for, since he appears to have few, if any redeeming qualities.

4) Rhaegar Targaryen- I really don't want to open a can of worms, but Rhaegar pisses me off more than any other character and manages this WHILST DEAD FOR THE WHOLE SERIES. I'm actually quite impressed.

5/6) Jaime. Everytime I hear his "Lancel and Kettleblack and maybe Moonboy..." chant in his head, or "Goldenhand the Just", I just wish someone would rip off his other hand and slap him around the face with it.

5/6) (I figured they could share this one :P) Cersei. Tosses people to Qyburn (and note, his place at the top of my hate list is not going to make me look favourably on this), spoils her seriously sadistic child and humours and enables his horrific behaviour. And, frustratingly, identifies every wrong that's been done to her (and some that haven't), but never thinks to extend that to empathise with those who go through the same wrongs. It is totally wrong that she is denied power because of her gender- but other women are "frightened hens" who only matter because of their husbands, or "whores", etc. It was horrible that she was sold into marriage and raped by Robert, and totally right that she denied him heirs- but Sansa had better be bearing Joffrey children and loving them, and she ought to be grateful for how well she was being treated. *facepalm*

7) Jon. I'm sorry. I'm just so bored of him. He's not a character that inspires my hatred in himself, but I kind of wish he'd go and do his thing somewhere else. Not in the books.

8) Randyll Tarly- He threatens his own son with death because he's not "manly" enough for him. The scene where Sam starts freaking out about being a Maester and having flashbacks, not to mention his recollections of his father's trying to make him into the kind of heir he wanted pretty much cements the idea that he was a massively abusive shit of a father. That's not even getting to his charming attitude towards Brienne...

9) Gregor Clegane- See Ramsay Bolton, but not nearly as compelling to read about.

10) Victarion Greyjoy- "Euron slept with/ raped my wife, so I beat her to death. I am so tragic." Uhhh... no. Amusing as his "Victarion SMASH!" approach to life seems to be.

Finally. Someone seems to have stolen the words right outta my mouth.

He. Beat. Her. To Death.

Seriously, not even a throat slitting, but BEAT HER TO DEATH! How many punches does that even take?

1. Stannis, overestimated/raging hypocrit/ massive plot device. What the hell is he dong in these books.
2. Davos,  Iike him as a person, but seriously half his chapters consist of him being marooned or in jail contemplating his life. Hope they improve.
3. Victarion, I don't get it. Martin wanted to challenge himself as a writer by showing us the inner workings of a bovine brain?

Not in any particular order, but this is a list of characters that I actually hate for being cruel, vile individuals who rarely (if ever) consider the safety or well-being about anyone other than themselves or immediate family, and continually do malicious things because of it. No one's on here because they didn't bend the knee to some made-up rule or I didn't like their POV or any other nonsense. There are people on my list I think are fascinating, and good, kind hearted people who I don't care to read about. Hate is too strong a term for that, best reserved for the individuals who actually do things worthy of hatred. There's probably more than ten, but off the top of my head:

Ramsay Bolton
Gregor Clegane
The Tickler
Joffrey Baratheon
Qyburn
Cersei Lannister
Vargo Hoat
Rorge
Biter
Walder Frey

Special mentions for religious fanatics who butt into other people's lives and business like Melisandre and the current High Septon.

I actually don't know why alot of people have Qyburn so high on their lists... I mean I know he's a bit demented because of his passion for experimentation on people, but theres not a whole lot to hate about him yet. People like Cersei, Joffrey and Walder Frey are people I'd think would top these lists.

Yes, cutting open living people and experimenting on them isn't disturbing or anything. We've also already had a rather graphic scene of him torturing an innocent person with a razor, but I suppose that doens't matter much either.

He remembers her sobbing between blows.

Also, nowhere does it mention that she consented to sleeping with Euron.

If I had my way, both of them'd be feasting in the Drowned God's watery halls long ago.

The Freys probably top my list, for the obvious reasons, but also for the purely annoying fact that they're all named friggin Walder. Like holy balls, ALL of them. And I get it, they're all trying to curry favor with the Lord Walder, but geez it annoys me to no end, reading that name every two seconds.

I also dislike, and in no particular order, with potential for minor spoilers:
Joffrey
Cersei
The Boltons, especially Ramsay
Gregor and crew
Qyburn
Sansa
Shae - I hated her from the get-go. You could tell she was taking advantage of Tyrion (though I guess you might argue her entire profession is men taking advantage of her) and when she betrayed him to the court, I wanted to wring her little neck. Irony?
Tywin

I'm sure there are more I'm just not thinking about right now, but those are the major ones in my mind.
