When Leaf gave a speech to Bran of how the CotF, giants, mammoths, direwolves, etc. are facing extinction because the world that man is building has no place for them.

In Theon's chapter where he supposedly had Bran and Rickon killed, I was figuratively holding my breath until at the end he reveals he didn't find and kill them.

Arya killing The Tickler while repeating all the questions he would ask his victems.  I sympathize with her character more than any other and strangely, HBO cast someone who looks like an older version of my daughter.  So yeah, you can imagine.

I can imagine you're going to make sure she never gets her hands on a sword and runs off with a guy dressed in black?  :D

Oberyn shouting "Elia" while fighting Gregor, for me too. Especially with the ending that follows.
Did you have to remind me? The pain...

Theon's epiphany in ADWD when he realized that the Starks were like a family to him more than the Greyjoys will ever be but he betrayed Robb and essentially got his "Family" (Mikken, Luwin etc) killed, and that he should have been with Robb at the Twins.

In AGOT from Ned's chapter at The Hand's Tourney after the Hound saves Ser Loras from The Mountain. " 'I am no Ser,' the Hound replied, but he took the victory, and the champion's purse, and, for perhaps the first time in his life, the love of the commons"  The part in bold gets me choked up every time I read it. It was done wonderfully on the show too.

Oh yeah! That was so cruel and heartbreaking!
I can understand Cathelyn did not like the idea of living with her husband’s bastard, but to reject a child she knew from the time he was a toddler, while she saw him everyday is very hard to understand for me.
And that final scene where Bran is dying (but will survive); a moment that should have united them for the first time, but that finally turned the worst possible way …
“It should’ve been you” That’s mean!

“Foes and false friends are all around me, Lord Davos. They infest my city like roaches, and at night I feel them crawling over me.” The fat man’s fingers coiled into a fist, and all his chins trembled. “My son Wendel came to the Twins a guest. He ate Lord Walder’s bread and salt, and hung his sword upon the wall to feast with his friends. And they murdered him. Murdered, I say, and may the Freys choke upon their fables. I drink with Jared, jape with Symond, promise Rhaegar the hand of my own beloved granddaughter…but never think that means I have forgotten. The north remembers, Lord Davos. The north remembers, and the mummer’s farce is almost done. My son is home.”

when it is explained that the reason an unsullied was caught in a brothel and killed by the sons of the harpy was that he payed the girls there to hug him

Yes yes and yes! The unsullied are a touchy subject for me. While they are loyal and amazing warriors, and Dany treats them better then most, I do not respect her for having them, though I do understand why.

I also find the whole Tryion thinking of Jamie at the blackwater and 'Where do whores go' thing very moving. They were really close (well, Jamie treated Tyrion well and Tyrion adored his older brother. XD)

And while Sandor is one of my favorite characters and his story is kinda really sad, he did sorta bring everyones hate on him all by himself.

Every now and then when I'm reading a chapter, out of the blue I come across a passage that just gets me right smack dab in the middle of my heart.  Quite often the passage connects 2 different books, and it only strikes home because I'm doing a re-read.

The most recent example for me was reading a Daenerys chapter in ADWD, where Ser Barristan is telling Dany about the Targaryens he's known, and she asks who her parents might have married  had they not been destined to marry each other.  To my  great astonishment, Ser Selmy tells Dany Queen Rhaella had been named the Queen of Love and Beauty by a knight at a tournament, and from the description it could only have been Ser Bonifer Hasty.

I previously had seen Jaime's thoughts about Ser Bonifer at Harrenhall where he thinks about the stories he's heard about Ser Bonifer, how he had been a good knight in his youth but had put aside tournaments and jousting because of some event that happened in his past.  The fact his heart was broken because Rhaella married her brother was the last thing I ever expected, and because it came out of the blue like it did I found it very affecting.

There are many touching scenes GRRM slips in, some big, some small like that one.  Another scene that brought a tear to my eye was the conversation between Jon Snow and Ygritte as she dies in his arms.

What scene did you find caught you in the throat?

Edit: sp

I never put it together that Ser Barristan could be talking about Ser Bonifer Hasty as being the one who named Queen Rhaella the Queen of Love and Beauty.

For me, almost all have been mentioned (Cat saying to Jon, it should have been you; the last time Tyrion and Jaime are together; when Jon gives Arya Needle; Tyrion telling Jon the truth about the NW and their moment at the Wall together; the Reek chapters).  IMO, nearly all of Jaime's recollections, particularly those of him as a teenager being knighted and fighting alongside Ser Arthur Dayne, make me wistful.

He did it because he was a broken man.  I don’t think he knew other ways to act toward people anyway. I also think that most people have lot of prejudices  and preconceive ideas about him. Just look at how he is badly welcomed at different places when travelling with Arya, even before the whole Saltpans events. And he gets accused of all the crimes of his brother, with whom he don’t want anything to do with.
I’m sure he was rejecting everyone because he knew he would be rejected anyway.

Sansa building the snow castle and septon Meribald's speech are the most touching for me.

Also nearly every scene with Arya and Gendry, when he is getting her out of problems and trying to help her, but she just does not realise that :(.

Lady's death. The Nightswatch wow. Jon beheading Janos Slynt. And the "I took her castle, and she took my heart line."

And the burnung of Mance made me cry. "Brothers, oh, brothers ..."

Mine has to be when Ser Loras is speaking with either Tyrion or Jamie and gets asked whether wouldn`t he love again and he says something like (it is not the correct quote) "When the sun is set no candle can replace it".It`s just shows how brokenhearted he is and what kind of love he shared with Renly .
