Yes. And I quote "Theon turned to giver her an appraising glance. He liked what he saw. Ironborn, he knew at a glance' lean and long-legged, with black hair cut short, wind=chafed skin, strong sure hands, a dirk at her belt.  Her nose was too big and too sharp for her thin face, but her smile made up for it." Theon talks about her breasts and how she walks with boldness and how while her breasts were pretty small they felt good in his hands.  When he learns of Asha's identity he thinks that he had two images in his head of her.  One was how she looked when she was young (pretty ugly by all accounts) and then he imagined she would look like his mother...which she doesn't.  In AFFC Tris remarks at how she was beautiful she is and the fact that she grew up to be a beautiful woman.  Victorian describes her as tall for a woman and he gets an erection looking at her.

Yeah it is that short black hair ... I would give em all the rest.... But that seems a mistake.
That actress seems to ,usually, wear her hair short.
Wonder if George had any input?

For people who can't understand Jorah he says 'you have a gentle heart, there are times when i look at you and i still  can't believe your real'

Thanks. That phrase is very weak, though. Didn't impress me at all.

Other than that, loved the trailer.

So am I right in thinking that Theon, Asha and Balon are to be the only Greyjoys in the show?
We see Theon's "baptism" scene in the trailers, so Aeron might also make an appearance.

HBO were asked about that when the footage came out and they specifically said that it was not Aeron.

I noticed that too, but over on another thread I was told that the guy doing the baptising is just a lesser priest. I think they are saving Aeron for when the AFFC storylines come around. No point giving an actor a pretty important role for a couple scenes and then telling him to come back in 4 years :P

Ok, thanks for the info!
This leads me to another speculation: Is it possible that the character who dies in the show is Theon? The producers may not want to keep him either on the payroll for several years. I kow he plays an important role in book 5, but by that time the story will get so complex that the show will have to sacrifice large chunks of it, so they might as well start with the "Reek" story arc.

Well, the Aerys scene we are talking about is the scene when Jaime talks of Aerys to Robert in S1, just that ! ;)
No, it isn't.  There is a scene that appeared in a trailer for S1 where a man is been choked and Aerys is in the background.  It probably isn't a deleted scene because it will show up eventually in the series.

And Yara is Asha. That is confirmed.

Just saw the shot in this clip also.

Edited to add:
And here is the screenshot from the trailer for those that are interested. :)

As for killing Theon.  I very much doubt it.  Anything is possible but killing a significant POV character early would have a huge effect on the story.  There are other ways to deal with lots of plots.

And just to revert on this also.  You are saying that it was not her personality that attracted him but it is pretty clear from what you quoted that her personality had a lot to do with it.

Just to be clear.  I'm not saying that Asha is ugly but i'm not saying that Asha is gorgeous either.  She is a reasonably attractive woman and they have cast an attractive actress to play her.  Although, I don't think the screen shot of her does her any favourites (although its not that bad).  But don't use somebody who loves her in the book to judge her.  Or her Uncle!  Victarion clearly has certain issues.

Anyhow, as I said, whatever about her looks, the character can still be almost 100% faithful to the books.

So, to recap what Padraig was saying; while shooting season 1 they shot the Aerys flashback, then they decided not to use it (in season 1 at least) but the scene still made it into a season 1 trailer. The show producers are not involved in the making of trailers.

Edit: they do say "trailers always lie"...

More or less.  I probably wouldn't say they are not involved at all.  They might suggest themes to explore in trailers or some of the scenes they would like to see.  But I don't think they are very involved in picking every scene we see.  Especially those scenes that we catch bare glimpses of..

Not to harp on the subject but I don't see how anything in the books points to Asha not being extremely attractive.   I mean what else am I supposed to use other than what's in the books and characters reactions to her?  I think one of my biggest issues is that she's just not anywhere close to looking like she's supposed to in the books...but then again neither is Theon (Alfie does a pretty stand up job).  Renly however was a massive disappointment and they changed his character in season 1.  I'm a little concerned about Asha/Yara.

Speaking of Theon I wasn't a fan of some of the things they changed in season 1.  Quite frankly Theon is a bastard in the books until ADWD.  That's what made his character arc so remarkable.   They made him far more sympathetic in season 1 IMO and I kind of disagree with that decision.  The rest of the season looks pretty great and I am excited for the premier.

That's just puzzling.  I don't particularly care either way but when Ran mentions that she isn't said to be very attractive, I assume that's the truth.

Where are you getting that she is extremely attractive?  There is Botley, who is rather biased.  There is her deranged Uncle and there is Theon.  People have quoted Theon's initial reactions to her and you simply can't interpret from those lines that she is very attractive.  I'm happy to accept other statements contradicting Theon but nobody has quoted them in this thread.  Of course, that doesn't mean she is ugly either.  Most people fall somewhere in the middle.

All i'm taking from that one very short glimpse of her in that trailer is that it wasn't a very flattering image.  But the actress herself is attractive.

As for Theon.  They removed his kicking the head scene, which is the worst thing he did in aGoT AFAICT.  Removing that did make him a little more sympathetic.  But I wouldn't say he was very sympathetic.  A lot of people mocked him.  He was rather arrogant.  But in aGoT he was very much a background character.  Same as in S1.

Just wanted to say your scene by scene breakdowns are fabulous, so glad I found them!  Great work.

Thank you. That is very kind and knowing they are useful helps to motivate me. I will try and tackle the latest trailer tomorrow - the one called "Price of Our Sins".
