.
I don’t remember which Season 2 trailer, but in one of them we see Bran being carried on Hodor’s back through some trees with Osha following.  For no good reason I get the impression that they are beginning the search for the three-eyed crow.  If this proves to be true it would seem to mean that:

Jojen and Meera are cut from the book and Osha is basically taking their place. Bad news since the Reeds had a lot to add both to the story---which I guess Osha could do but not nearly as well and the part about the mystery knight and various wolf cubs would probably be cut as well---plusI found them pretty interesting as people with such specific skills.  It would also diminish the importance of Howland Reed, assuming this no-show is really so important in any case!  But I suppose he must be; it is known.

Presumably Maester Luwin survives the sack of Winterfell (v. good news) and takes Rickon to Skagos.

On the other hand it could just be a scene when Hodor is carrying Bran through some trees with Osha following and has no great meaning.  This mundane theory is supported by the fact that Ramsay Snow either hasn’t been cast or is being kept a secret equal to who played Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind. (And why would that be?).  That would imply that Theon’s capturing Winterfell either isn’t going to be in Season 2 or the capture itself makes it but goes no further.  Of course in that case it’s too early for Bran to be going on any quests.

I would have posted this in the HBO series forum but "it" wouldn't let me start a topic. Does my reputation for dud topics precede me?  I've never even posted there!

I think the scene of them walking in the forest is before the sack of Winterfell, I could be wrong but I don't think the comet was still visible when they fled.  I'm really hoping that they will drag that plot line to season 3 and introduce the Reeds and Reek/Ramsay then.

I believe the comet was seen through Summer's eyes, it does look like Osha is going to be part Reed part wildling, and I think them leaving is after the crypts, also what I saw in another clip there is a Catlyn LF exchange with dagger in hand.

I might be wrong but I think most of the comet sightings and speeches about the meaning happen in the beggining of the book, so before the sack of Winterfell.

By the way, I always though the comet was a genius move from Martin and how every major player thinks it has something to do with their own quests.

I think this takes place earlier, before the sack, not after.

The comet was still visible when they emerged from the crypts.  Because some crackpot theories have Bran as AA, bc the red comet was in the sky, he sees a "flying serpent spitting flame out of it's mouth" while warged as Summer, and the smoke and salt and all that jazz.

Crackpot?! How dare you! :fencing:

In all seriousness, I'd heard they hadn't cast Jojen, Meera or Ramsay <_<

I think people are mistaking "haven't cast" for "haven't announced the casting of." There are at least a few characters, like Balon Greyjoy, that were cast, and I don't remember any official announcement of it.

I've seen a picture of the actor cast for Balon though, I'm sure of it. I'd be happy if they have cast them without us knowing.

Well yeah, but that wasn't my point. To my knowledge, they didn't do a big casting announcement for Patrick Malahide the way they did for Dillane, Cunningham, etc. And if the Reeds and Ramsay only show up in later episodes, they might not have been announced and/or might not have publicity shots in the same way that characters like Stannis, Margaery, Davos, Melisandre, etc. have.

I doubt we'll see the Reeds at all in season 2, as I've seen no mention of them on the twitter accounts of the actors who were filming at Winterfell. It's possible that they have very, very small roles in the season and just haven't been announced, like it appears has been done with Selyse, but I seriously doubt it.

I know that, and its a fair point, but like Balon, I thought we would have at least seen some pictures for Jojen, Meera and Ramsay, unless they're purposefully keeping their casting under wraps. :dunno: I hope you're right, and that they will still be playing a big part.

That must be before the sack, because Osha has to take off with Rickon to Skagos. That, however, does not mean we'll see Reeds   Bran can go alone (with Hodor) just because Jon is on The Wall ( and get lost or whatever happens).

ETA: The actor cast as Hodor must get miserable now and then. I know it is great to be a prat of such project, but he is basically just a cane for Bran. I wonder if he rebels and starts making up his own lines without "Hodor" :D

I think it would be a major loss for the series if the Reed children weren't/aren't incorporated.

If they're not in season 2, I would like to think they join up with Bran in very early season 3.

I might be confused, because it's been some months since I read the books, but as I recall:
- just 1 or 2 chapters after killing Qhorin, Jon is taken before Mance. In his tent he meets Dalla, Tormund, Styr, Val and Jarl. Have any of these people been cast?
- The actor who plays Jon says he's gonna have a "love story" this season, which means they moved the whole thing with Ygritte from the 3rd book to 2nd season, right?
It's getting really hard to keep up...

This gives me some hope. I don't follow casting, so when people were saying there were no Reeds or Tullys I figured that meant HBO announced all actors that were going to be on the show and they weren't announced so they wouldn't exist. But if you're saying they don't announce every actor, there is a chance we'll get Meera, Jojen, Edmure, and Brynden. I would sorely miss these characters if they didn't make it to the series.

Im's pretty sure Jon doesn't meet Mance untill his first chapter in A Storm of Swords, so those people don't need to be cast yet.

I love Jojen and Meera, and I just did some looking and it appears they have not been cast for Season Two on every website I could find. Some said Osha will assume their story line, and that they may be picked up in Season Three. I don't see how that would work because Bran and Rickon need to separate, and I don't see how Bran could meet them while traveling north.

We've known that the show was going to have to cut back on the enormous number of characters and combine some, but I never thought we'd lose the Reeds.

And his back must get really tired, lol they are gonna have to build a cart for bran or something when he gets bigger.
